Your Favourite Vintage Car Commercial
Ace-Garageguy replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I'm pretty sure it was Renault that did a print ad in mags like Car & Driver in the late '60s or early '70s extolling the superior manly virtues of their fully reclining seats over high-horsepower performance. Also pretty sure it only ran once. I'll say no more. -
People at the top who are pushing the "own nothing, eat ze bugs, be happy" agenda would prefer everyone to be inhabiting pods in their vision of a brave new uber-egalitarian utopia...everyone but them, that is.

"NETFLIX" EMAIL SCAM GOING AROUND

Anything worth doing is worth rushing through, taking as many shortcuts as possible, using the cheapest materials, and then begging for praise on the interwebs for 3rd rate mediocrity.

GAZ or not, it's always nice to have alternate sources of vintage Ford parts in 1/24. Kit #24052 (photo above) appears to be a US version. Is that correct?

Chevy and engines in general have figured centrally in my life, but a well-rounded man broadens his interests.

Models at car shows used to smile at me, but these days I don't go to many car shows, and pretty young things don't smile at me much.

"Game the system to use rules or laws to get what you want in an unfair but legal way" is a remarkably popular approach to life

IIRC from several hundred years ago, the pins on the steering parts were originally s'posed to be melted flat on the ends with a hot knife or screwdriver blade...after assembly, of course. Anyway, she's still coming along nicely.

"Work" can be fun if you figure out a way to get paid for doing something you enjoy.
