I'll be looking out for this build. Good luck!
-
Nice build. wish I had the 1:1.
-
Nice work! I sense a theme here......
-
Didn't these things come from the factory with rust? Seriously though, great job!
-
Good job. It looks like you are using the exact samne colors that I used in my first weathering experiment (found here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56449 ), right down to the rusting solution. I can't wait to see more on this build. Keep up the good work.

I would also like to know more about this car....

Durham, Ontario: DAM meeting, May 16th/2012
Intmd8r replied to Nick Winter's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
obviously I'm too late for this meeting, and Durham is a little to far for me to drive durnign the week, but I would be more than intereted in checking out a show or meeting if DAM has something happening on a weekend sometime. Is there some sort of schedule that you can post? -
Excellent work!

Cool. This is probably the most detailed demo car build I've seen. Keep up the the good work.

Excellent work so far. The body paint turned out real well!

I've been wanting to do one of these kits myself, but can't seem to find one for leass than $100 . Love the road racer look. Don't be too dioscouraged about scratchbuilding parts for this build, even the 1:1 cars had little to no aftermarket support. I'll be watching out for this one!

Thanks! I used PE parts for the horn button, door handles, window cranks, foot pedals, and the keys in the ignition. The steering wheel was hand painted, layering different shades of brown for the woodgrain affect. The horn button and guages are hand painted as well.
-
You nailed this one!

To give the tires more of a race car look, I sanded the tread off of the tires making them race slicks. I sprayed the wells with clear dullcoat and sprinkled the tire shavings into the wet dullcoat. When dry, it works just as well as glue.

The downside to using a high-def camera is the picture files are HUGE. The pictures were downsised to 15% of their original size in order to upload to this website (and still be able to upload more pics). You can see beter quality and more pics here: http://s1146.photobucket.com/albums/o533/Intmd8r01/ . Consider these "teaser" shots and be rest assured that finished product will have "better camera work".

My latest built, 2001 SLM Monte Carlo #15 "Tim Hortons"
Intmd8r replied to Daniel Lynch's topic in Model Cars
I had no idea Tim's sponsored a stock car. Did it run in CASCAR (NASCAR Canada)? Talk about drive thru..... -
Just a little something I've been working on. I've been working on this one for a few months now and it's almost finished. The reference and inspiration: http://www.legendary...te/GT350R_White http://www.legendary.../GT350R_Donahue

The stance is just right for that car. Well done!

*Updated Pics* I felt something was missing. So I added a broken and weathered fence and spare hood. The hood was left over form the kit and the fence is made of popsicle sticks and balsa wood for the fence posts. Ink was applied to the wood and lightly sanded for the weathered look.
