Can we hear it run?

I like where this is going. Would also like to see a "how to" on the fender flares -Steve

Can't wait to see more progress. As for the seats and other "tuner" parts, it depends on how much you want to spend. I found a few cast resin seats on e-bay, as well as these resources: http://www.modelscientists.com/ http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=25_32_70 http://www.scale-auto-style.com/product.php http://www.hlj.com/ -Steve

85 chevy sport truck

Nice work. This is by far my favorite P/U done just the way I like it: ride'n low with V8 power! -
I see you went with the eco-friendly, quiet and efficient engine with this one . Congrats on a job well done.

I know how you feel. Right now in additon to the Cobra, I have two GT 350-R builds under way. One is a detailed race car replica build, the other is a top secret custom. On top of whish I have the itch to go out and get an '07-'12 Shelby Mustang. I know that it's a bit of builders ADD, but it keeps me busy while waiting for paint to dry or parts "extras" to arrive inthe mail. No one ever said that you can't do both, and you certainly don't have to build them at the same time. Take your time and have fun! -Steve

If you ask me, the Shelby Mustangs are more readily available (at least around here) than the Cobras. You can't go wrong with either generation because it's a SHELBY! The newer generations seem to have more aftermarket support if you want to try your hand and a one off, custom build with wild wheels, resin hoods and scoops. Whatever you decide, just make sure to share the pics BTW Thanks for the feedback!

This is my build so far: It's nothing special at this stage, although I did paint the body twice. I wasn't happy with the outcome the first time around so why not make it perfiect the second? It's a vintage Essex Wire kit and I thought that it would be perfect for this build. I don't recall seeing any other Essex Wire finished builds, so hopefully I can do a decent job! While no one knows what ever happened to the original Essex Wire Cobra, here is my reference material: http://www.legendary...y_Cobra_Racecar

Great Diorama work, but some twisted subject mater.

It's hard to improve upon a Caterham, but I think that you are on the right path.

Something I've been working on for a bit...

Building '69 Charger Daytonas with my Grade 5 class
Intmd8r replied to Bill Eh?'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
Awesome idea. You have to be the coolest grade school teacher ever. I once built a scale model of a space shuttle as part of a 7th grade project, but that is as close as I have ever came to such a concept. Surely it was nothing as cool as a '69 Charger. I look forward to seeing more pics! -
Thanks for all of the positive feedback!

I think that you should add some salt to give it a weathered look as if it just completed a run on the flats. Great build none the less.

I wasn't sure if I would like it, but it looks awesome so far. Keep up the good work.

I've had this kit for a while, but decided to start it this past week while waiting for paint to dry and parts to arrive for some of my other builds. I put off this buld because of my disapintment with the quality of the kit. It's from the Arii Owners Club series and it's intended to be a motorized toy (motor sold separately). Unfortunately for me, I didn't know this until after I had ordered the kit from Japan. While the body details were OK, and the interior lacking, the chassis and engine were as inacurate as you could possibly get. Even though the doors and hood open, I glued them shut because of this This build was inteded to recreate my Dad's old '74 Challenger. I don't have a reference pic to post, so you'll have to trust me on the accuracy. Extra's: -Felt was used for the headliner and carpeting -PE Wiper blades were added -Paint is Duplicolor Chrysler Forest Green. It went on perfectly! One of the best rattle can paint jobs I've ever done. -I ussed Future polish after some light wet sanding and buffing. -The tires are left over from my 'Cuda build (http://www.modelcars...showtopic=56449), and the wheels are from Scenes Unlimited > top notch quality!

Excellent job. I can hear the open headers and see the mud flying now......
-
Awesome work! This is by faar the best scaled versio I've seen yet of this car.
-
Nice work. BLOCK RULES!!

Some nice work on this. The wheels remind me of vintage Panasport road racing wheels. What are they from? Your build thread said that they were left over from a previous build.
-
Nice work! Where did you get those wheels?
