Using a curbside kit with less than 50pcs helps for a quick build . Nothing crazy engine wise for this build as there is no engine in the kit! If I can find the time this weekend, I'll paint the trim and add the lights and call this puppy done. Then on to the next build! I like the body work on the Mustang so far, still waiting to see a pic of the engine. Did you ever solve the problem with the door hinges?

RATical chopped and channeled '25 T (hot rod, not rat rod)

I dig it. -
You forgot to mention twist ties. The kind that is used on garbage bags or in electronics packaging to keep cords neatly bound in the box. They are usually free and a good size for makinig scaled ignition wire when you remove the outter casing.

I'm sure the next post will be of the lumpy cam and crankshaft he just machined freehand. The post after that will be of the spark plugs...... Seriously though, this is an impressive build. I can almost hear it run now.....

Taylor plumbing work van
Intmd8r replied to 38special's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's awesome! It looks like every contractor's van I see runing around Southern Ontario. Great Job and I can't wait to see more pics. -
Nice attention to detail!

Congrats on a job well done. Based on the final results, you made this build look easy (even if it wasn't).

Well done! I especially like the roof.

Looking good Dylan. It's nice to see a post related to the topic lol

Nice collection! Let me know if you ever want to part with some of thosse kits

Scratchbuilding Lambo doors would be a challenge! Perhaps you can canabalize one of the Revell kits that offer them. I think that they are in the "new" Charger, Magnum, or 300 kits. It may not be cheaper, but maybe easier.

I'm not defending the price, but I saw this car in person and can tell you its a brand new '93 Cobra. Also, did you look up '93 Mustang Cobra, or the Cobra R model? With as little as 107 ever produced, I would be surprised if the blue book even considers values of such low prodruciton numbers. I had no idea that a '93 Cobra R even existed. When I walked into the showroom, I thought "What the hell is this Fox-Body Mustand doing here with the Porsches, Lambos, and Bentleys!?" You can pick one of these up in decent shape for $2,500. Then I did a walk around and noticed the factory radio delete and other race prep options from Ford that I've never seen on a Fox-Body before. That's when I started asking questions. MVL Leasing is a toy store for the rich. The owners are good guys. If they are asking $69,900 for the car, then it's because they have a market for someone to pay that much for it. With the amount of high priced vehicles that move throgh their doors, I don't doubt that the car will sell either. Either way, it's some good clean reference pics of an all original Mustang. Take it or leave it.

You just outdone yourself. Looking good!

Hey Dylan, I saw this car at the dealership the other day. Think of it as some inspiration for your build! http://www.mvlleasing.com/used/Ford/1993-Ford-Mustang-a7d806690a0a0064013d9c026f3d571f.htm

I now see why you want ot build the scaled version of this! I`ve personally never build an IROC Z kit or one of the larger scales, but from past experiences with different brands, you can`t go wrong with Revelle or Monogram. The aftermarket support for 1:24 scale kits seem to be plentiful as well. What ever you decide to build, make sure to share the pics! I want to see more of this bad boy.

I thought that I would post some build pics to break up the banter lol . It`s just a mock-up, but it gives you an idea of what it will look like finished.
-
Almost done! I'ts looking good too
-
Amazing work. This build has better paint than the Hot Rods at my local Speed Shop!

If your valve covers are any indication, working in 1:24 scale won't be much of an issue for your skills. Dam good work so far!

All car brands have their flagships and disasters. I used to wave the GM flag when I was younger, then I had a couple of lemons from the general that changed my mind. My grandfather worked at the local GM assembly plant for 30+ years and refused to buy a GM with his employee discount! As for Ford, there wasn't a single model that I would even consider buying until 5 years ago when Ford cleaned up their act in the quality departmetn. Most Ford owners that I know spent more time working or fixing their rides than driving them. A few years from now, I'm sure that things will change again. Just look at Hyundai!
