Lakes-style Chopped Deuce 5-window - Completed
Intmd8r replied to Bernard Kron's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This is what a Deuce should look like! -
Nice touch withe the headlight covers. What did you use to make them?
-
Very nice! The work is top notch. The driver seems to be out of proportion, but I'm sure he came in the kit that way. You should be proud.

Nice build. I've always liked the livery on this one. The 1:1 used to be stored outside of Planet Hollywood in Niagara Falls. If I recall, the sun's UV rays didn't treat it too kindly over the years and has since been sotred elsewhere.

You don't see too many Datsuns set up for the drag! I like this one (and all Datsuns). Love to see more pics if you have them. Steve

That's a lot of mud! This build surely looks like the 1:1

I like the wheel/tire combo. Hopefully the stance of the final product is close to the mock up in the first pic.

41 Chevy Pickup

Excellent detail on this one. I love the attention to detail of the rad hose. Good work! -
The last time I had a seller from ebay give me a hard time about a refund, I offered to leave negative feedback and/or file a formal complaint through ebay against the seller. Most sellers use ebay as a busines and can't afford to have anything less than 100% customer satisfaction. Others simply don't care. I agree with Ronald, the damaged should have been disclosed in the listing. Unless you fee 100% comfortable with your purchase price and are good at scratchbuilding, why not try to get your money back? Maybe it's my experience in customer service or my past dealings with dishonest ebay sellers, but I hate to see good customers get ripped off. The fact that ebay does not allow for face to face transactions is no excuse for poor customer service. Just my $0.02. Either way, I wish you luck on this kit, and hope you keep us posted on the results.

I'd go back afer the Ebay seller. You'd be surprised at the custoemr service of some people. Most sellers buy kits wholesle without ever opening them up and listing them accordingly. I've had two examples in the last 3 months were I bought Ebay kits that were missing or had damaged components not described in the listing. Upon contacting the seller, my purchase was refunded 100% (including shipping). I'm not saying that it always works, but you don't know until you ask. Steve

Slammed C1500

Very nice build! -
Your review of this kit echos my own personal feelings about AMT kits. The last AMT kit I attempted was a Mustang fastback something like 20 years ago. I was too young to figure out how to modify the parts to fit, so I never finished it. To this day, I avoid any AMT kit at all cost. You sure did a fine job out of a lemon of a kit. Even if you can find the flaws in the pics, you are your own worst critic as they say. The rest of us thinks it looks great.

Well done! Do you have more pics that you can share? How about a reference pic of the 1:1? -
I can't remember the last time I saw a T/A scoop on a Fox-body........ interesting build all the same. Keep up the good work!

x2. I've always liked this kit and wanted to build one myself. Good luck and have fun! BTW, what got you back into the hobby? -

Lucky SOB's! I've been trying to get my hands on this kit for a while, but I'm too cheap to pay Ebay prices of $90+ for an open kit. I had to settle for an overpriced re-issue of the 510, less the BRE decals . Looking forward to this build and I hope to use it as inspiration for my future 510 build.

Nice work and good call on avoiding the "Shaguar" theme.

REALLY!?! C'mon man, you're making the rest of us look bad. Awesome work BTW!

FINALLY found some time to complete some minor details along with some clear sky for some outdoor pics. This is one of my favorite completed builds. Hope you enjoy the new pics too!
