I love the color, What paint type it is? I don't think it's a Tamia spray can... For the wheels, the 1:18 die cast often has wheels too big for a realistic look, in 1:16 they look better. I love to mix different scale in my projects. nice charger

1-8 '69 nitrous pro mod camaro
midengineaddict replied to comp1839's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
you are my idol... I hope someday I will have your talent and your equipment -
A little work on the rear end, the copper links are just for fit test, the real one will be made from stainless rod. The lower coilover mounts will also be the bracket for the wishbone. The coilover are from micro Nitro, the rod ends are from RB motion the uppers coilover mounts are from futurattraction and the lower is from dirt modellers.

In the beginning there was a Ford 32 B400, but now its more
midengineaddict replied to oldschool's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Did you use The Jag fender parts to build the rear end of the body? (not the fender of your car) If so, it look verry good. Jimmy Flinstone is a very good body designer.... it's bad that he don't do 1:16 and 1:8 -

That car is just at it's starting point and he already have a soul I love that style -
Some progress, The wheel base length is not determined yet so that's the reason why the front section is so long...

Peterbilt 378 jet truck
midengineaddict replied to midengineaddict's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Finally, the truck will be 1:16 scale, I have a picture of the aluminum wheels... from michael.cherry2@ntlworld.com that guy is an artist, you got to pay but it's worth the money... (just to show how those wheels are big, the front steer axle in the picture is 1:24 scale axle)- 18 replies

Peterbilt 378 jet truck
midengineaddict replied to midengineaddict's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I asked Jan Hajicek www.cmkkits.com the size of the BMW 003E and here the answer: Diameter is 23 mm, length w/o front intake (different for each aircraft type) is 79 mm. 0,905'' 3,11'' the Diameter is pretty close to the 1.125'' you told me... 23mm compare to 28.5. So I think about buy 3 of them and scratch build a larger back section , an intake and a nozzle to make it longer and install a lot of wires and pipes to make it bigger. I will make the back section Like the 1:32 model, is larger in the rear.- 18 replies

there's a link to 1:32 AMT kit in another forum, the chassis looks good. the engines are not detailed, I think GE engines are all covered by fairings. Maybe it's possible to scratch build them.... http://forum.truckmodelworld.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=4770- 18 replies

This was a project I wanted to start a long time ago but 1:24 jet engine just don't exist If someone have an opinion or a solution about the project or if someone did it, let me know here the Pete I dont know if 3 of these engine in 1:32 whill be big enough Or that overkill F1 rocket engine in 1:36 scale (That engine is huge, the designer Seems to be willing to print it smaller) or take it in that scale and do a 1:16 truck http://www.shapeways.com/model/595980/f1-engine-1-36.html?li=productBox-search

midengineaddict replied to trev0006's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
At that scale and that price(???) Maybe I would prefer a little bit larger one and drive it myself insted of RC
