Bart, my kb5 cab is 4" large at the rear and 3"1/4 large at the fire wall and is 1:16 scale. my project is inspired by that 820c.i. ford hemi but with a 18 71 Kobelco blower. You seem to be open minded about playing with the scales... So I think about getting the 1:12 426 block and heads, glue them together and then shortening it to be just a little bit longer then the MPC big charger 426. Then scratch build a blower intake and cut the block again to get the good space between the heads to fit the 1:16 scale Kobelco 18 71 and is intake. So I will have very larges heads and very large but low profile aluminium head cover and very BIG headers every other engine parts will be 1:16 scale.... what do you think of my project?

I tried to get a very large engine for my 1:16 inter kb5 http://www.modelcars...showtopic=56853 so I get a flash point 526 who I thought is bigger than my MPC big charger 426 hemi http://www.modelcars...showtopic=56607 but it's smaller. I didn't know at that time the MPC 426 is out of scale but it's the size a search for my kb5 and I don't want the same engine base for 2 models... so my question is, the Paul Rowe engine, it is bigger than the flash point one and how can I contact him? the second question is, I didn't fond a complete Tdr 426,, all i found is the block, the head and the blower, I can figure to scratch build all the rest but is the complete version existe? thanks for your help

I never knew that, it makes me understand why I worked that much to make the door flush to the body... sorry for the Minicraft fans. It's just that I was disappointed the first time I open the box and see that the roof and the rear of the cab is molded separately from the front section and the firewall, and once glued together, the 2 parts hold by the very thin window frames. be sure that I love this model and I love the result, but the cab broke into several part 3-4 times during the building process, maybe I don't have the better glue for the kit. To resume, I have to say that I had more joy than disappointment building it and its a good kit but I think it can be better if mold in white styrene.

your comment make me ask a question, why the companies produce a model in something else than white styrene? the colored plastic is hard to glue, and everybody prime and paint their model so the color in the plastic is useless. For me, it's an unsolved mystery, maybe its a worldwide conspiracy to make the modelers drink beer to calm their nerves...

Just received the very good looking TDR rear end, the front runners is 1:24 revell big rig tires... I wanted biggers front tires than the flash point ones due to the enormous kb5 rig rod body... -
Wow very realistic seats...

Ok then... ... ... impatient to see it detailed ... I am impatient to see the hydraulic control unit, I think it will be a great project who will catch the Eyes of the spectator, a lot of detail can be integrated in that zone... -

good start but I thinks the engine looks a little bit small in the front of that mid size rig... I think about taking a 1:12 scale Tdr 426 block (in 1:16, it can be 600 or more c.i.) but I'll keep the big 4 scares holes scoop. hope it will look cool If someone have any suggestion of a source of big engine... don't hesitate
