Ya know, I used to think my Google skills were more than adequate, but even though I tried searching for these directions on Drastic Plastic, I didn't get anywhere. Thanks for the assist and the advice.

I've got numerous kits with big block Chevy engines but I'd like to add this intake manifold and side draft combo to one of them. These parts come in this kit which I neither want nor need.

I've got this kit, which I think has potential, but I need some ideas for modifying the suspension. It has the Eckler's flare package, which should allow you to run wider tires, but instead the kit setup just moves average size tires further out. I tried to find the instructions online so you would have a better idea of what I'm up against, but no luck.

Something to keep in mind: the '74 had a split rear bumper/tail light panel assembly.

Perhaps I missed it. Do we have a release date for the Cougar?

I keep my "surfing" to relatively safe sites (TTBOMK) such as hobbies, cars and politics. Over the years I haven't had a whole lot to be concerned about until about a week ago when an email showed up referencing my name and a couple other things that made me nervous. Knowing virtually nothing about computers etc, I was wondering if getting a VPN might prevent more of this kind of thing.

I'm asking because I saw a Barbatos Rex video where he used one and got fantastic results, especially with the fan attachment. When it comes to paint recommendations and modeling equipment tests, Barbatos Rex's word is usually gospel to me. OTOH, I just finished watching another person review the same 'brush, and there wasn't a whole lot about it that he liked. I'd say his biggest gripe was that the fan tip seemed to spray more heavily toward one end of the spray pattern, which showed up on the test paper. Anyway, I'd like to know what you think of yours. Comments + a number grade (1-worst, 10-best) would be great.

I've got two of these (Non-Pro Street) that are still waiting to be built. The only real knowledge I have about them is what I've read, which seems to be mostly positive with two alleged exceptions. 1) The front suspension is weak and sloppy. Some have said it's hard to get the tires to look correct because the supporting components aren't strong enough to hold them in place correctly. 2) The grille is a poor fit and lacks decent gluing areas that would help affix it to the front of the fenders. Again, these issues are based on comments I've read, but they popped up enough to make me wonder. OTOH I have seen a number of pics of these cars where there was a grille fit issue of some kind. Any thoughts, personal experiences and pics would be welcome.

One of my modeling holy grail dreams came true with Round2's recent re-release of the Mach Won Mustang funny car kit, which hadn't seen the light of day since the mid '70s when AMT first offered it. I was, however, disappointed to see that the new release doesn't have the original decals, which I thought made the original box art so appealing. (Seems like they also offered a Ford support truck with similar markings back in the day). Anyway, I'm hoping you guys can point me to someone who offers new prints of these decals, as I don't have a lot of confidence in decades-old ones.

Background: I built this kit as a young teen ('70s) and was always hoping to find another one, but that never happened. With the advent of Ebay, they were available again, but I couldn't/wouldn't pay the $160.00 they usually went for. A short time ago, Round2 announced that they would be releasing this model and I was ecstatic. Once my tax refund was back, I started shopping, but my usual favorite sites were all sold out, as apparently I wasn't the only modeler anxiously awaiting a chance to have this kit again. Luckily I found some on Amazon for a decent price, and they arrived today. Upon initial inspection, the chrome looked great and there was only a minimal amount of flash on a couple of the white parts. I did notice something that's going to be an issue for me though. The new kits have entirely different decals. I wanted to build this original version again, but I can't: Even if I could find the original decals, I'd be leery of trying to use them. There don't seem to be a whole lot of stories about 40+ year old decals working well. Any chance someone makes a current set of these?

I'll be watching this build with interest, as I've got an unbuilt one that's been waiting in the on deck circle for ages. My main issue is finding the best way to replicate the clear corner lights (JoHan chromed them as part of the grille/headlight assembly).

Watch as he paints the gas tank. He's using XF-56 Metallic Gray.

There's a builder on YouTube who uses Tamiya acrylics (particularly XF-56 Metallic Gray) on chassis parts, and I'm kinda curious how he's doing it. My one experience (years ago) with them was frustrating because I was trying to "work" them like I would an enamel, but they started to dry too quickly for that and more or less pulled up the paint I had applied. OTOH, they seem to allow him to work the paint, and I don't seem any evidence of Mr Color leveling thinner or any similar product. Am I missing something simple?

Skip, I've never used this paint before. Is the hardener necessary?

It's not uncommon for modelers to put a given project on temporary hold because of kit or skill issues so congratulations on powering through and finishing this build. I agree with the others that it turned out well, and I hope this success will provide the impetus for finishing more kits soon. May I ask what exact paint you used (ex: Tamiya #1619)? Love that dark red.

I'm currently doing some initial research on colors for an upcoming model project and I'm leaning toward variants of gold (think how much different Model Master Inca Gold is from most regular gold paints). Anyway, I came across some pics of GM cars painted in Warbonnet Yellow, which I like, and I also saw similarly aged GM cars painted in Placer Gold. Admittedly, all I have is small internet pictures for reference, but to me they looked strikingly similar. Just curious if someone with knowledge of car paint could tell me the difference and maybe post pics that best define each shade.

There's a seller on Ebay offering them for $6.00 a bottle, but also asking $8.00 each for shipping. I'm hoping to find the lowest price on both, but having never purchased them before, I'm kinda at a loss as to where to start. TIA for any helpful info.

This'll be fun to watch. Despite their age, these kits can really pop, especially if done as two-tones. Can you elaborate on what new parts were tooled/added in the most recent release?

My Pavlovian connection to flared C3 Corvettes summoned me, which in my case is a nice thing to have. The build itself is obviously killer, as always, but what really made me sit up and take notice was the section in the WIP where you stated how many hours you spent getting these tiny decals perfectly placed. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to pull that off. Either way, thanks for sharing another great build with us!

While researching something else, I noticed that Tamiya and Mr Hobby offer "smoke" paint, which seems to indicate translucence. I wondered if these could be used over colors like red, yellow or silver (and possibly others) to make subtle stripes etc. Anybody done this? Pics?
