Great book plus a great store.
Hedgehog replied to Hedgehog's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well styrene addicts I checked a lot of places for this books and prices are ridiculous even for used books. I rarely buy from any web that I'm not sure if it's safe plus prices are out of my reach. I found gold getting a new book from Modelroundup. Their price I think it's fair. keep on building. -
Its almost five in the morning and I'm still on my compu doing research on kits and tools LOL a little late dont you think. I wanted to share something that I think you all should know plus sharing ideas and knowledge is what makes us better. Three days ago I got through mail which is a must-have book for all of the scale model cars addicts. By just reading the first pages I can tell it's a one of a kind book. Great source of information. It's called "Building and Detailing Scale Model Cars" by Pat Covert. I highly recommend that if you don't have this book, invest some money and buy it. My second point for this thread is specially for all the model builders here in L.A. I've found a fantastic hobby store which is my day-off place to go. It's Burbank's house of hobbies. The guys up there are awesome, they know how to treat customers besides really knowing the material they sell. They're such a helpful, and dont rush you to buy stuff. I feel home being there and I don't get forced to buy things if I dont need to. I'm not being paid for this info guys but take the time to visit this place if you get the chance to. Keep on creating

Hi styrene addicts. As some of you know from some of my threads, I made a big mistake by just diving into building my first model, obviously I messed it up. Looking through the Internet I found this forum which has been of such a great help. About a month ago I realized I needed to postpone the practice and start gathering info about which is becoming one of my favorite hobbies. Since then I've been stuck to this forum (my fav forum btw) buying magazines, tools and kits, and doing research in general. Thanks to one of the threads and to Dr Cranky I knew of something invaluable, something that is becoming my everyday source of info. Dr Cranky calls it the bible for scale model builders; I like to call it the source of brain feeding. I'm talking about "Building and Detailing scale model cars" by Pat Covert. Honestly I would dare to say that this magnificent book is one of a kind, being so it's very hard to find. It took me time to find where to buy it but here I have it. I got three days ago though mail. PRICELESS I highly recommend that if you don't have this books in your shelf, invest some cash and get it.

Hedgehog replied to bodeen2012's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Oh that's dope. Those rims look awsome. My question is if those rims are made 28" or you took them from a bigger scale and made a conversion to 28". I need some rims like those. what kit exactly did you take those rims from? -
I want one of these

Hmm, OK, tell me why?
Hedgehog replied to prostockmania's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think those two bidders were just prancking each other and at the end the winner won't pay for the car. Besides this, I think no matter how much you want one of these kits youve got to use your brain and realize that you can buy for a lower price. -
