gtx6970 replied to CA Whitecloud's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Best I remember. the 60s era stock cars just used a widened stock steel wheel The Johan Petty Superbird and/or 64 Plymouth has some good ones in it maybe take a look at the rims in the Lindberg Petty Plymouth I might have some if you need just the wheels -

In the past Ive used thinned enamel paint. But the only place around here sells testors enamels is Hobby lobby, and its Not convenient to get to as its the complete opposite side of town from me I just bought a bottle of the Tamiya black for grill work , and I like it. Its extremely thin so it flows out nice

Interior is done. Nothing spectacular. Rattle can krylon satin blk Various details picked out with a 1mm chrome pen Grill is done..and came out WAY better than I expected. Brush painted with testors burnt metal metalized. Very lightly fogged with a bright silver from about 2ft away Tamiya panel line accent flowed in the grill bars to highlight them. A touch of clear yellow on the back of the turn signal lenses to simulate the yellow bulbs in the 1/1 car ( I really like how Revell did the head lights on this kit btw ) Then just run a 2mm chrome pen on the outer edge to simulate the chrome mldg on a real one

Well done, The cougar kits can be quite a handfull to get them to sit right

Dash / instrument panel done. I ended up just painting the woodgrain as I could not get the decal to stick Gauges glued in from backside. With clear Elmer's glue on the ft side / faces to give it a clear lense look. Again..thanks all for looking.

My 2cents here But a quick cursory view Engines from the era used a 4 bolt valve cover thus have a slightly different shape than later 6 bolt models In you file pic it has holleys - not avail in that period , should be carter AFBs Air cleaners should have a defined flat back edge and nearly touch each other in the 1/1

Landy 1968-69 Coronet decals ???
gtx6970 replied to gtx6970's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks. I have the remains of the sheet for the Charger . Plus I have an extra sheet from the Revel Landy SS Dart kit and I will most likely use it for the upper Blue/Red body color stripes The darts side red color decal has a slightly different shape than the Coronet would require. So probably will have to paint the red side panels -
This is another kit that was painted years ago . then boxed up for one unknown reason or another From the beginning it was Slated to be a replica of a long time friends actual car . 1/1 is real deal Hemi auto , 4.10 Dana car Only deviation planned from box stock will be AMT pad printed Polyglas tires, in F60+ L60 15s like the 1/1 car has . Kit builds as a 4spd. The actual car is auto. But not likely I will change that in the build . Jury is still out on that Painted K2 Testors GoMango / Vitamin C with black interior to match the 1/1 It has some scuffs in the paint , luckily I still have the Testors can and hopefully It sprays out well enough to repaint the body and hood. Fingers crossed on that. If not maybe I can decant it and break in my new to me airbrush I got for Christmas. If not, I will have to look at other avenues for paint. If anyone has hints or tips with any known issues with this kit. Let me know

Spray it flat black, then dry brush the raised edges and outer edges silver It lends itself to some decent detail work -
