Adhesive wide white walls
Lovefordgalaxie replied to Lovefordgalaxie's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Yep, I will share the file, no problem, but you have to have Auto CAD installed on the PC to print it. Can also draw the same thing on Photoshop, save as a JPG file and send you, but the scale factor would get a little confuse depending on your printing options. The very best, and more exact way is by far Auto CAD. if you draw a 1/8 inch line on it, it will print a 1/8 inch line. -
Adhesive wide white walls
Lovefordgalaxie replied to Lovefordgalaxie's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Now THAT's a bummer... I never used vinyl adhesive to make white walls, but I never had any kind of problem with the ones I made out of paper. I think paper is just immune to the effect of the oils of the vinyl tire, like a acrylic paint would be. Anyway, my printer wouldn't print on vinyl without making a mess, and the main reason I use this technique is because of the fact I can print custom lettering on the tires. I could make a white line with a thin red line inside, just printing the red line on the pepr, and then protecting it with fixative varnish for art work. -
Oh God, thank You very much!!!! Not one but TWO FACTORY STOCK 1932 Fords, just the way they are supposed to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wherever he is, Henry Ford must be smiling. There is still hope.

This one is a 1:43 scale diecast from Altaya that I reworked. It represents the Brazilian 1969 Galaxie 500. The car has some subtle differences from the 1966 Galaxie 500 North American made, even tough our 1967 model was the same car as the '66, and was launched in late '66 as a '67. The Altaya model had some paint issues, that I corrected by repainting the roof, and polishing the trunk and hood. Also added BMF to the trim, as it was all painted silver. painted the interior in red, to make the most desired color combo around here, black with a red interior. The cars painted like this were called "red widows" The most radical change was the replacement of the wheels and tires with parts from another Galaxie model, with much less detail than the Altaya, but with far better representations of the wheelcovers and tires. I did some wash on the wheelcovers, on the grille, and painted the white lines on the tires. I guess that IXO, the company that made the model for Altaya is going to release it trough it's Premium X 1:43 scale model brand. They did the same with the Brazilian Maverick GT, that was first released trough Altaya, and latter released by Ixo trough Premium X with lot's of PH parts and even tiny printed "Firestone Wide Oval" lettering on the tires. 1969 Galaxie 500 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1969 Galaxie 500 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1969 Galaxie 500 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1969 Galaxie 500 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr

USS Enterprise
Lovefordgalaxie replied to a topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Count me on the I hate J.J. Abrams club. Ugly ship, and messed with the entire cannon. I LOVE Star Trek. Watched the Original Series about 50 times, the Next Generation also about 50 times, Enterprise about 10 times, and I'm right now watching Voyager for the 15th time. have all the DVDs. Just don't like much Deep Space 9, and really, really HATE with all my soul the Abrams "things". the soundtrack is not bad, "Enterprising Young Men" is quite a cool music, but the movie itself... This year I had the bad luck of watching part of the new "movie" Star Trek XI. It's even worse. leonard Nimoy sold his soul to the devil. -
Very nice!!!! Loved the painted detail. I really think this ship would had worked great instead of that disaster J.J. Abrams created while messing with the cannon. On two episodes of Enterprise the USS Defiant appears, including in warp, with modern effects, and it's great, way better than the new monstrosity...

Alclad in place of BMF
Lovefordgalaxie replied to hjracing's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Bought Alclad and was given some Alclad II. Did some tests, over enamel gloss black, and over other colors. I wouldn't use it on a model even if BMF didn't existed. It's fragile, hanling the model can and will damage the finish, not to mention that a coat of wax will ruin it. When I'm out of BMF, I just use household aluminum foil and white glue. Same result, a little more work. Gave away the two bottles of Alclad I had. I think by now the guy I gave them to already trashed them, or gave them to yet another victim. Like Mr Spock would say, the logic is very simple: Foil is metal, what you are trying to replicate is metal. -
Thanks gentlemen!! Yes, the antenna is a bit bulky as is the fuel line, that almost looks like a silver radiator hose going to the carburetor, but, it's a box stock build, and when I do that (90% of the time) I change nothing that comes in the box. For the ones that liked the color, it's Tamiya French Blue, from the spray can, and that color is a perfect match to a FoMoCo color called Horizon Blue, that was standard on the Edsel cars. Over the counter, it could be ordered on Ford cars, you just had to have a little patience.

Really nice. I wish Ford had the Cosworth pack here at the time. 4X4 and that engine would be really killer. I drove one of those Escorts for six months, it was my company car at the time, but it was a regular 1.8 liter 16V Zetec, that was a great engine already. It was because of the Escort's influence that I bought my 2001 Ford Focus, with the very same engine. Still have the Focus. Ford for sure knows how to make a great car in small size.

1966 Ford Galaxie 7L kit?
Lovefordgalaxie replied to Jeremy Jon's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
If you want more engine detail, you can get the motor and transmission from the AMT 1966 Fairlane 500 427 kit. THAT was the engine to shoot for on a 7 Litre Galaxie. It was the optional engine over the 428. The 427 was even more powerful than the 428, that was a smooth torque machine. The optional R-Code 427 side oiler, that is the engine on the Fairlane 427, had a hotter cam, aluminum intake manifold, and two Holley or Autolite four barrel carburetors that would deliver honest 425 Hp against 345 Hp of the regular 428. Also, the 427 was only available with the Top Loader four speed transmission. -
SFD, how is the Galaxie going? Stalled or burning rubber?

This one I built from the new tool AMT kit. Painted with Tamiya spray can paint. Interior and undercarriage were airbrushed with Testors acrylics and enamels. The trim is a mix of paint and BMF, being the rear sail panels, painted silver instead of foiled. Box stock build, don't have even spark plug wires. Hope you guys like her!! 1960 Ford Starliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1960 Ford Starliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1960 Ford Starliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1960 Ford Starliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1960 Ford Starliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1960 Ford Starliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1960 Ford Starliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1960 Ford Starliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1960 Ford Starliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr

My friends, Thank you for your comments and support. Me and my picture helper are very happy with your feedback!! -
Oh boy... That is just gorgeous. The paint is great!!

That's some radical body work. Very well done. I just have one thing to say as a positive criticism. You have to add a wishbone to that front axle. Just the leaf spring won't hold it.

Another repost, my AMT Ford Victoria. Paint is Tamiya TS-14 from the spray can. Like this is a more recent build, I did the adventure of kitbashing the kit's wheels for the ones in the AMT '34 Ford coupe kit, that are a lot more accurate for a '32 Vicky. The cars is like I dream to own, bone stock. On the pictures I have a Franklin Mint Three Window coupe along with the Vicky, just to picture the two together. 1932 Ford Victoria V8 & Ford Deluxe Coupe by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1932 Ford Victoria V8 & Ford Deluxe Coupe by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1932 Ford Victoria V8 & Ford Deluxe Coupe by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1932 Ford Victoria V8 & Ford Deluxe Coupe by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1932 Ford Victoria V8 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1932 Ford Victoria V8 & Ford Deluxe Coupe by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1932 Ford Victoria V8 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1932 Ford Victoria V8 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1932 Ford Victoria V8 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1932 Ford Victoria V8 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr

Very very rare for me is to build something not factory stock. Would never do this to a real car, but built this Fairlane into a early 1970s style hot rod. Since the last time I posted it, I added the flames that came with the kit, added quarter windows, and a CB antenna as the car had the CB under the dash, but I had forgotten about the antenna... Breaker, breaker... Why nobody copy, breaker? The build itself was fast, and took under a week. paint is Tamiya orange from the spray can. The engine is the 312 Y-Block with a custom aluminum intake manifold for a dual Autolite 4100 carburetor setup. Wheels are the only aftermarket I even consider to even exist, Cragar SS composite mags, in 15" that's about as big as a car wheel can be, and wrapped in Good Year Polyglas GT bias ply tires. 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Hot Rod. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Hot Rod. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Hot Rod. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Hot Rod. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Hot Rod. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Hot Rod. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Hot Rod. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Hot Rod. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr

That's actually a 1962 Chevrolet Brasil pick up. She was side by side with a '63 model. I like the '62 better. By the way, are you from Germany? You would love Pomerode. Everybody there speaks German as second language to Portuguese. The "Most German town in Brazil" is their lemma. Pomerode Car Show 2013 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
