Scale I Build

  1. here it is everybody. it is a revel 1968 dodge dart GSS painted Tamiya chrome silver. it has a wired distributer and the trim is the Molotow crome pen. it didn't turn out as good as I wanted but oh well its all a learning experience and the next one will be better. what do you think?
  2. Back from a long time of not being able to post on here.
  3. Built this a few years ago. I ended up displaying it in a mode l shop near where I live. Unfortunately the guy who owned the shop ended up closing, and stole 8 of my models including this one. Today all I have is pictures, but at least I hope its under somebody's glass somewhere.
  4. I finally finished my Linburg Rammunition Monster Truck diorama. The kit was pretty easy and went together easily. This was my first model with a roll cage and fitting it together concerned me a bit, but it just slide together and required no cursing at all. What made it best was the $9.99 price tag from Olies. The crushed cars are my first also and it was also my first time spattering mud/sand. Thanks for looking
  5. Re-painted the grill and did some touch ups. SAM_2543 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_2544 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_2545 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr
  6. I understand this isn't for the faint of heart Mopar nuts and some of ya are gonna spout out "YOU PUT A WHAT IN THAT POOR OLD DODGE?!". But, since the 330 had a slant six on the base models this combo pays a modern homage to those slant sixers with a twist. This was the AMT boxed Lindberg kit i got on markdown for $7.50 at HL, and since I rarely do things OOB I brainstormed some customizing ideas on what to do with it. I found a resin 2JZ and resin turbos that a friend gave me a while back in my stash and that got the spark going for my next project on top of a closet full of kits i plan to chip away at. Interior is Testors light gray rattle can and basically OOB, added a dash gauge cluster piece (from a Revell pro stock of some sort) and a 57 'Vette steering wheel with a custom stick on the steering column to replicate a shiftier on the wheel type config. 2JZ resin motor has resin twin turbos mounted on modified headers from a Ferrari Boxer 12, plastic tubing as intake pipes, and a custom side exhaust made from a Mustang muffler and Lamborghini exhaust tips. Cadiator from a AMT Dodge Viper, and suspension is pretty much stock but added new drive shaft to go to 2JZ tranny and modified engine mounts on suspension and transmission brace. Wheels and tires are from a AMT Dodge Concept Car builder (that looked as some child did his/her own "crash testing" as it's body all broken, but wheels were intact for only $1). Paint is Tamiya TS-60 Pearl Green cleared with Pledge, and the frame is Krylon Stainless Steel Finish. I also added a Japanese Licence plate from a Aoshima Skyline of some sort because why not. To those who appreciate homages, I hope you enjoy!
  7. A good April 19 to everyone. This is my Truck-A-Thon 2018 build, the Dodge L-700 tanker truck Starting with step one,the engine, the fit of these parts is poor but with sanding and trimming all went together well Next was the wheels and tires.I have only been at modeling a little over a year but i have never come across instructions as unclear is the one included in this kit Parts # not on tree which i have encountered before but the illustrations are just as bad Ok,enough rant and on to step two,the wheels and tires This is the one that had me tied up So off i go to do the flash clean up then to a Dawn soap bath before painting. Next time wee'll see how the engin and wheel paint turns out. Till then Peace Out
  8. Got one of these kits at Ollie's and wanted something that was pretty straight forward with no modifications. I had this orange paint sitting around and decided to use it. Once I got the white stripes on I looked at it and thought boy that looks like a Cleveland Browns truck. The only thing missing from the paint job is the real browns helmet has a thin brown strip on the outside of each of the white strip. I thought it still looked very Brownish and still put a custom plate on it. Did not notice how the hood was sitting till after I looked at the photo. I screwed the front decal up a bit.
  9. A while back I had pick up some of the Revell 2009 Dodge Challengers and when I went to Ollies some time ago my son and I picked up some Revell Dodge Ram VTS Pickups. I built one of the Rams and my son had started on the other. All he finished was the engine and put it away to do a WW2 tank model. This evening he pulled the model out and was looking at it. He then pulled one of the Challengers out and started "playing" around with them. He then placed the Challenger on my desk with the V10 in it. I took a look at it and if I modify the intake and oil pan it might fit right into the engine bay. What do you guys think? Should I take his idea further? This might just give a Hellcat or Demon a run for their money
  10. Hello, here is my current project.. Its 70`Charger from Revell Fast n`Furious kit.. Im not going to build Torettos car, since i wanted to do something else.. Paint is Tamiya Candy lime green.. Like you see, i opened headlights for grille.. Started engine wiring and plumbing.. Interior piece got some weathering.. Im doing this something like: it has fresh paint, fresh engine and chassis parts, but some pieces on body, i mean inner fenders on engine space, that interior panel where back seat should be, and chassis will be in "old" color of this car.. So its kind of middle of progress, but still in driveable condition.. I hope you got my point, my english is not well to explain it better..
  11. Hello, here is my Dart from Mr. Norm`s kit.. Decals were poor condition, but i used that stripe and aircleaner decals from newer Hemi Dart kit.. Added plugwires and mudflaps and some custom "Mopar" license plates and some little decals too on windows.. I lowered front just a little bit, so stance looks much nicer now.. Paint is Tamiya TS-34 called Camel Yellow.. and for vinyl top, i just brush painted it with satin black.. Some red color also to give bit more attitude.. Commets are welcome..
  12. I found this website after Googling and stumbled upon Shelbytonas thread about the Daytona model he was working on. Unfortunately, his thread or project appears to be unfinished. I'm definitely going to use his photos as references though. I owned two of these cars in real life, both 1988's, both Shelby Z's, both white with maroon interior but one had a blue stripe. Anyways, here's the progress so far: The car: I'm choosing the striped one as my inspiration because I wanted to try painting stripes instead of using decals. This is also the first time I've used an airbrush, which I'm borrowing from my brother, and first time with acrylics. I think the bulk of the painting with airbrush is done, now onto the gluing and brushes.
  13. Gonna start posting some of my older stuff since my old photos are lost from photobucket. 1 (2) by Eric Lucas, on Flickr 1 (3) by Eric Lucas, on Flickr 1 (4) by Eric Lucas, on Flickr 1 (5) by Eric Lucas, on Flickr
  14. Not a bad kit, pleasure to build. Wish I'd have gone with black though. No engine picks, kit was missing some pieces for it. 15. Couldn't wait for this kit to come out, and when it did I bought one immediately. Been waiting for some time to build it and since I just lost my job I have a lot of new found time on my hands for some builds. 16. By far my best build & also my proudest build!! My '68 Dodge Charger with a 440 big block. It took me over a month to complete as I submerged myself into the detail of the car. This car truly helped me grow as a builder & I can't wait to see what comes next after this one!!
  17. My '68 Charger that I just finished. Nice kit, although I had a heck of a time with the front bumper/valance fitting. Had to use super glue on the 3 pieces to get it to stay. Not perfect fit, but I moved on...LOL. I went with the Plymouth Plum Crazy paint and I really liked the way it came out. 3 light coats over the dark gray primer, then 3 light coats of Testor's One Coat clear. I went with the street version mostly, but stuffed the 426 Hemi in there and added some nice Mickey Thompson meats in the rear. Used the Mopar rims and some purple accents on the interior with Purple Embossing powder for the carpet. All in all, I think it came out pretty good. Hope you like it. Once again, much thanks to this board and it's members for the tips, tricks and projects posted. I read through this board a lot!
  18. (Delete if not appropriate) Please no tirekickers. How many would be interested and for sure purchase a trans-kit of the 77 Monaco/Crestwood? It would come with body, rear bumper, tailights and tub/tub extension. Not sure yet if there should be trim for the wood,or leave that up to the builder. This would be mastered and produced by a professional who today produce very high quality aftermarket products,so it will not be anything as the resin blob offered on eBay. The price range my guess will be in the range $45-$60. You will have to supply donor-kit and extra glass. For now just checking interest. If the response is good i`ll get back with more details. Tommy
  19. This was the third kit I've worked on since I've gotten back into the hobby. I've been away from building for 15 years. This kit went together rather well. I cannot say there was much of a problem. The paint is Duplicolor MC201 Metalcast Anodized Blue with a Duplicolor Plymouth silver base. As I work more and more, looking back I should have rubbed out the orange peel. I'm learning... Thanks for looking
  20. Hi everybody! Just started some work on a 71 Charger. I managed to sand all the parts and put primer on all the body parts. I also painted the body, hood and chassis with Scalefinishes plum crazy purple. It was the first time I used Scalefinishes product and I'm very happy with it. There is some dust in the paint at the moment, but nothing that can't be sanded out. I'm going to wait a few days before I put some clear on it. I'm building this model for Moson model show in Hungary that will take place in the middle of april and I'm planning to build another kit The pictures are not the best, but you can see something Regards, Andraz
  21. I started this car back in October 2012, and I'm getting back at it to try to finish it up. Here is where I stand right now: Engine Interior Undercarriage The body is at the "Paint Shop" right now (thank you Tom ), so hopefully I'll have more updates once the body is all painted.
  22. Hello, I am new to the forum! That being said, I thought I would share my recent car project. My stepdad owns a 1968 dodge coronet 440 with a 318 cubic inch engine. So I decided to make a scale model of it. I shaved the R/T badges from the 1968 R/T body I found online. Used painted masking tape for the black vinyl top. I also had to modify the engine mounts for the smaller engine to fit with the roadrunner frame. I have added a picture of the actual car for comparison. 23. Hi all! It's been quite a while since I posted any progress on any of my models. I recently set up a new model desk and finally finished up my Dodge Challenger, so here are some studio pictures of the finished build. Enjoy!
  24. Help! I'm trying to finish up Revell's '68 Dodge Charger R/T "special edition", but the front stance is too high. I'm about to pull it apart, but wondered if anyone else had this issue?
