I'm, relatively, new to die casts... I, only just about a year ago, discovered Nascar trucks and trailers in 1/24 scale.... I had no idea this market existed... Anyway, I converted a Nascar hauler into this 3 car hauler... It just made perfect sense to me... This is just one of about 6 I've converted, this way... I display many of my die cast cars on the backs of these things... Saves space... ?

This one was yet another Street Rodder magazine Modeler's Corner how-to, focusing on kitbashing a "phantom" Model A SuperCab DRW fifth wheel trailer towing rig. The orange graphics came from yet another Revell kit decal sheet designed by the late Brian Bordon, while the charcoal gray paint was from the Testors Car Colors paint rack and those deeply tinted (actually, opaque) windows were unexposed camera film. This one was never finished in that there's no engine or interior (yet) and the chassis, derived from a 1/32 scale semi-tractor kit, was a bit crude in its design. I was also never fully pleased with the paint, but I didn't want to redo it, nor bury it in a bunch of clearcoat. Will it be finished? Given that it has existed in this state for just about exactly 30 years now, probably not, but never say never....meanwhile, thanks for checkin' her out! TIM

Been working on this one for a while now. It started off as the Revell 1977 GMC Wrecker, but that thing has a moulded-in engine and it's only RWD. This is why I converted it to 4x4. But I also wanted it to be a truck built for hauling parts and trailers. This is where the flatbed comes in. As for the moulded-in engine, I replaced by the Revell 1968 Charger's 440 big block. Here it is!

Hey guys this is my first post in a long time, but does anybody know where I could source some 8 lug dually wheels to go on the monogram f250 kit. I am looking to turn his into some sort of service truck or something, and I certainly can't use the 5 LUG wheels that came with the kit. Seriously what were they thinking. Anyways would a dually cab and chassis truck like the one I plan to build have a solid front axle, or the independent suspension that came on the truck. If it is supposed to be solid axle could I just fabricate one from styrene? Thanks.

Scratch Built dually fenders just started this project today. Its gonna have stacks and hopefully i can make this engine resemble a 6.2 or 6.5 diesel. Its going to be International Harvester red. The kit's optional window visor will be used. hopefully it will turn out nice. Oh yeah the fenders are made of sheet plastic traced from my brother's stepside fender from his amt 55 stepside to make them. Also expect to see a 50 ford pickup project come up soon it will be IH red also not sure on what kind of plans are in store for it though.
