Lownslow Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 how many transmissions did go through, wasnt the most durable of cars.
Joe Handley Posted March 20, 2015 Author Posted March 20, 2015 I don't know, 540k, some of which was off road, can't be THAT fragile.
1930fordpickup Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 They say the engine is original. I expected that , the trans was what these cars are known for having troubles with. Great story and I hope they finish the whole thing.
Rob Hall Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 (edited) A buddy of mine has one with about 275k, on it's second engine and transmission. I rented a bunch of these and the Chrysler versions back in the day, always pleasant cars to drive. Reading the article, sounds like a great adventure...quite the road trip. Tom Geiger Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 That is a cool adventure. A few years ago my wife and I were laid off at the same time. I suggested that we take a year off, sell the house in PA, buy a camper and tour America. She didn't entertain the thought for a minute. I'm sorry we didn't do it.
