Wolf75 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) Something my brother picked up for me today. The 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner. I got some photo etched parts I'm gonna use on this and a pre-built distributor, and I already cut out the trunk, so I can make a working trunk lid. I wanna make a cowl induction hood, I don't know yet. I really wish I could find some baby moon rims for it since I'm not to happy with the stock and custom rims that come with the kit. I'll have to wait and see what I can do with it. Edited April 8, 2015 by Wolf75

Wolf75 Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) that going to look good when done looking good so far Thanks ^__^ This is my first kit of the year. I hope I'm not to rusty. Edited March 24, 2015 by Wolf75
FatBoyKuztoms Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Any bad points on the kit? (I.e flash, warpage...)
Wolf75 Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 Any bad points on the kit? (I.e flash, warpage...) There was some flash, but nothing to bad, and nothing is warped as far as I can tell. There were some pretty visible mold lines coming down from the rear window and following down to where the tail lights go, but with a little sanding you can't even tell they were ever there. Also I like that this kit came with the white lettering already on the tires, and if you flip em over you have the choice of redlines instead. I don't know if this is standard with all AMT Round 2 kits or not since this is the first kit I've even gotten from them.
Roadrunner Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Interesting project. I like the stock wheels though.
Wolf75 Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Interesting project. I like the stock wheels though. I actually decided to go with the stock wheels after I checked out some photos online of the real things, and thanks. I should have an update soon. I move kind of slowly lol
Wolf75 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Ok so I knew I wanted some kind of green, and I saw this at Hobby Lobby and figured I give this a try. It's called Mystic Emerald. Looks like plain ol' dark metal flake green to me, but oh well.
freakshow12 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Good stuff. I think this, the gtx, gtx convert and 70 bee are among my favorite kits
Wolf75 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Some quick pics before I head to bed. I got the clear coat layer on and couldn't help but mock it up to see how she looks. Certainly is shining now ^__^
slusher Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Green looks sharp cleared. Real nice work so far....
Roadrunner Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I like the Mystic Emerald a lot. I have a can sitting here in fact, for a Peterbilt 359 I'll be spraying soon.
Wolf75 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Thanks everybody. It feels good to be working on a model car again after so long, and reading everyones comments has been real motivating. Thanks again
bandit1 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 cool car so far... not sure if you see it or not but I spy a bit of orange peel on the drivers side quarters behind the wheel... just fyi...
