angelo7 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 This paint scheme was called "Elizabeth" back then. Just finished it. Franklin Mint did this one years ago in 1/32 and I could never afford it so I made my own. The only thing I don't like is that the bumper is too wide. I did not use the front brake drums as the axle was too wide so now the bumper looks even wider. But overall it is a nice kit.
Old Buckaroo Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 That is one Fine looking Freightliner. I like the color combination.
Petetrucker07 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Very nice job man. She's a looker for sure.
Tesla Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 What a terrific looking Freightliner! Job well done Angel.
towman1271 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 The rest of the truck looks so good you don't even notice the bumper..Awesome job
gatorincebu Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Nice job on this one. I like the paint shceme and graphics. Be Well Gator
angelo7 Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) Thank you guys for the nice comments. I'll also take comments on how to make the bumper look better. Edited March 31, 2015 by angelo7
Mopar - D Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Angel great looking Frightliner I always liked the multi colored paint jobs.
Superpeterbilt Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Thank you guys for the nice comments. I'll also take comments on how to make the bumper look better. The only way to fix it is to cut it, section it, and rechrome it.
angelo7 Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) The only way to fix it is to cut it, section it, and rechrome it. Yep, I just did that. But I did cut a little from each corner. Now the corners look funny but at least it don't look wide. I think I messed it up. If somebody has an extra bumper for this I'll buy it. Edited March 31, 2015 by angelo7
Jim B Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Really nice looking White-Freightliner. Well done. The silver with the green really stands out. Definitely not a fleet truck.
Goodwrench3 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 The only way to fix it is to cut it, section it, and rechrome it. Ugh... another thing on the "to-do" list for my current Feightliner COE project. But it sure is a beautiful rig you have !!
Guest Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) I'll also take comments on how to make the bumper look better. How about making a custom bumper from some styrene sheet, along the lines of a "Texas Bumper". You could cover it in Bare Metal Foil (BMF) and have a good match for the kit chrome. Superpeterbilt Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Ugh... another thing on the "to-do" list for my current Feightliner COE project. Call me crazy, but fixing these little quirks on a kit is the fun part of modeling! Theres a little more pride in the truck, knowing that you corrected their mistakes.

angelo7 Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 This is what I got now. A little narrow but still working on it. I still want to replace it if I can find one.
