VictorSmalls Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 I am a big fan of late model domestics running turbos. The only resin vendor I have seen that sells turbos and intercoolers is The Parts Box located down under. I am wondering if anyone makes these in the US, as I would rather not ship them from the other side of the world. Any help is appreciated. Sincerely, Dave
Len Geisler Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Dave, Not too sure about vendors, but why not try some of the more readily available turbo kits. I have picked up a couple Callaway Turbo Corvettes off the bay for around $12 shipped to me. I is perfect fo build two turbo charged small block Chevies..... Good luck man....
Ry4ns302 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 If you search the word turbos a thread comes up referring to a guy named I believe (Schucky), theres a link to his page in the thread. Shopping for some turbos for myself I found his selection IMPRESSIVE!
Kaleb Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 I agree Shucky makes the best turbos, I have a couple Ive yet to put on lol.
Chuck Most Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 One of the members here, shucky, does some really cool resin turbos.
whale392 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Yet one more for Shucky. His quality is outstanding, service is great, and he has a few to choose from. If you are wanting stock-sized turbos, good luck. The Parts Box may be your only aftermarket alternative.
VW Dave Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Shucky(Mike) has you covered, and calling his stuff "nice" is the understatement of the year. He's in IL, so shipping is super fast. If ThePartsBox has what you need, however, don't be afraid of ordering from them either; I had good luck with them before, their customer service is top notch, and their turnaround time was waaay faster than some domestic(and allegedly 'reliable') resin casters. Get a buddy or two to go in on an order and split the postage.
LAone Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 i agree with these guys. mike aka shucky, has some really nice turbos.
george 53 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Personally, I can vouch WHOLEHEARTEDLY For Shucky's( Mike DeLuca) products! You can look ANYWHERE, but for a resin cast extremely accurate clock-able Turbo, Mikes the ONLY way ta go! His race turbo's even come with a COGGED drivebelt for maximum performance! Mikes stuff is some of ,if not THE BEST turbo equipment available! Buy with safety AND confidence! Plus he's a Forum member brother!
VW Dave Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 His race turbo's even come with a COGGED drivebelt for maximum performance! George: The belt-driven ones are centrifugal superchargers, not turbochargers. They're still awesome pieces regardless.
Foxer Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 (edited) Shucky's posted 8 times WITHOUT a link .. at least Luis posted a photo with the link ... are we LAZY yet? Update: grin at Kaleb ... was typing as you posted Edited September 22, 2011 by Foxer
shucky Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Hi guys, thanks for the kind words. Just an FYI ... since many of the existing molds have worn out I thought it was a good time to make some revisions to the current 2 sizes of turbo offerings. I know its been some months w/out availability, but summer brings projects to do around the house. I now have both turbos on my modeling desk and some small modifications will be made making them easier for me to resin cast. The cold side will now be 2 individual pieces and the exhaust (hot) side will remain 1 piece. So the assembly will be 3 total pieces. I may consider making a smaller (stock'ish) sized unit since there seems to be some interest. Also, the procharger molds will finally get repoured as well. In the not so distant future I will be making an F-4 Procharger. This will be a VERY large frame unit (if you've ever seen one you know what I mean lol) which I'm hoping will give drag racing builders more options on their powerplants. I'd love to see some on unsuspecting street cars too lol! As these items get finished I'll post an availability notice in the "resin" section. Thanks again for your support and kind words. ~Mike
george 53 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Thanks,Dave. I have his Superchargers as well! BOTH products (Turbo's and Superchargers)are VERY well cast. Really, he can't go wrong by ordering them!
LAone Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 mike/shucky, im looking forward to that F-4 snail.. that just calls for a supra drag car and i already have the donor for that.......... mike/foxer, that is why i posted the photo...

Markku N. Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Yummy, those are quite impressive parts. One thing is what I'm missing is a twin turbo set for a V-block engine. I have been looking for a long time. Maybe someday Mike could produce it? I have a friend who's built a twin turbo+supercharged 1991 SBC pick up sport 350. That thing is a brutal monster, I was quite afraid when I took a ride! In a fun way of course I want to build a scale model for him of that truck. I also need some for my future projects. So, do You Mike send these parts abroad if I won't tell anyone where I got them (or will if You want to)?!

George, do you post just to have something to say? If you are unable to differentiate between a Centrifugal Supercharger and a Turbocharger, you may want to refrain from posting and making yourself a set of braces with your shoestrings. Yes, Shucky (Mike) makes both, and they are even plainly labeled. His work is beautiful (as I have all 4 of his castings: street turbo, drag turbo, slipper-belt Procharger, and cogged-belt Procharger) and I will buy from him again. whale392 Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) Yeah, slipper belt (commonly called a V-Belt) You know, the 6-8 rib belt that is commonly used to spin the blower. Maybe you haven't heard them called slipper-belts, but when you start making big pressure and spinning the compressor at high RPMs, that belt starts slipping. Personally, I would run cogged on ANY Centrigugal Supercharger. Yes, you sacrifice a bit due to the friction of the cogs, but you gain in NO BELT SLIP! So, am I on now, and 'no such thing' huh? Thank you for playing. Edited September 23, 2011 by whale392

I do have both his turbo's AND superchargers, so I may get a bit confused at times. It comes with age.i don't get what braces an shoestrings have to do with anything, but if folks WANT to be rude to be rude, that's up to them. I wasn't trying to be.
whale392 Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) Mike does indeed make a very good product, and we have talked at length about what I would need to start making copies of my own parts. He is easy-going and very helpful, and makes a sweet product to boot. Like I said, I too have all of his forced-induction set-ups, and do recommend them to anyone wanting these options. If I came/come across as rude, that is in the eyes of the reader, and sometimes even in the mind of the reader on the particular day it is being read. I have gone back and got two different vibes from the same post on different days. My mindset for that day was the only thing different. I will shed some light on the braces and shoestrings thing for you..............it was an attempt to make 'put your foot in your mouth' less harsh sounding. But back on topic here; I believe tho O.P received the information he was looking for. Hopefully, he is as happy with Shuckys' stuff as we all are. Edited September 23, 2011 by whale392
