My plans so far is to .... shorten the body by a quarter inch right behind the rear wheels.

I happened to come across this profile photo of a real car and decided to do a little comparo. Guess what, the model isn't as disproportional as I thought. There are some vertical differences and the door doesn't line up exact, but for the most part, not too bad.

Put in another vote for the shortened body from me. As for my own current W.I.P. that I just recently started, it'll retain the kit body length, but I'm aiming for a bit less of a sheer street fighter appearance while still having it be totally recognizable as the Quicksliver - flames and the panel graphics, but with more of a milder custom look.

Out of the two additional ebay parts piles that I won, I may end up with a decent pile of unneeded parts, including a Bad Actor windshield / rear glass. Hasn't been delivered yet, though, so I don't know the condition of that parts pile.

Agreed. Not too bad. But Now it's obvious that is it due to the shape of the rear wheel opening on the 1:1 that keeps it from looking as rear heavy as the 1/24 model. Perhaps if I emulate the stock opening on the model a bit, I might accomplish the same thing.

I have acquired a set of glass but they are in rough shape. If you do end up with at least an extra clear windshield, I'd be interested.

As far as my build goes, it's still in parts acquisition phase. I've gotten a 1/24 BBC w/dual quads on a tunnel ram from a Monogram '39 Chevy kit. It should work perfectly on this model. I'm still undecided on wheel/tires though.

Thanks for replying guys.

Front wheels are Flys , back wheels are Spyders ; both made by Motor Wheels , c.1968- c.1974

I bought the Z28 just for those "fly"s!!!!

Jeff, I just grabbed them out of my parts box but they originally came from a 1/24 GMP diecast.
