cobraman Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 There were several colors I believe. This kit is molded in red but the artwork on the box looks more maroon to me.
sjordan2 Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 (edited) There were several colors I believe. This kit is molded in red but the artwork on the box looks more maroon to me. Johan's original Gold Cup issue that I posted above was molded in an accurate solid dark maroon that matched the 1:1 car I also posted above (both on page 1 of this thread). They carried over the box art illustration to the reissue that was molded in red. I believe there were only 2 or 3 other original 1:1 coupes, in blue or black. Edited May 13, 2015 by sjordan2
sjordan2 Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Hang in there Ray, you have a sharp build going.. X2. Nice paint job.
cobraman Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 Thanks guys. Rounding the bend to the final assembly and that is where my problems normally begin.
wayne swayze Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Wishing you well with the final assembly Ray. It looks terrific!
cobraman Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 Thanks, I need it. Don't know why I have so much trouble with final assembly sometimes. I know I have a bad habit of sometimes rushing towards the end but I'm working on correcting that.
Twokidsnosleep Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Thanks, I need it. Don't know why I have so much trouble with final assembly sometimes. Oh yea, I totally do that Get so sick and tired of the darn build I just wanna slap it together and be done! Patience my friend, patience
drodg Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Thanks, I need it. Don't know why I have so much trouble with final assembly sometimes. I know I have a bad habit of sometimes rushing towards the end but I'm working on correcting that. I have the same problem. Often your fit issues come with the body and chassis. I often rush as I am ready for a new project. Hope you do well
cobraman Posted May 15, 2015 Author Posted May 15, 2015 Getting close to finishing this one. Maybe a couple more days. Not as good as most of you guys can do but I am fairly happy with it. It will require some touch up here and there. I did go with an ivory interior but it is difficult to really see inside due to the narrow windows.
wayne swayze Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Looks good Ray! Any photos with the hood on, even though the engine looks super in there?
Harry P. Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Looks very nice, Ray... but those rear wheels are too far forward for some reason.
cobraman Posted May 15, 2015 Author Posted May 15, 2015 I agree about the rear wheels but even the art work on the box makes them look that way although maybe not quite as bad.
slusher Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Looks very nice, Ray... but those rear wheels are too far forward for some reason. The one on the drivers side is the one that looks way to close. Other then the wheel it looks awesome..
jaxenro Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Look at the pics of the original on page 1 the wheels were that close
landman Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 (edited) Plugging along on this one. Body has been cleared but will need to be polished still. Wheels have been built as well as the rear end axel and suspension. So far it is fitting pretty good. Only the wheel backs gave me a bit of trouble. they just would not snap in and I had to sand them down a little. Edited May 16, 2015 by landman
landman Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 It won't let me quote again. Ray, what clear did you use?
cobraman Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 Pat I used Duplicolor primer, paint and clear.
cobraman Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 This one is finished. Photos will be in the under glass section soon if interested.
