PatW Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I started this a few days ago. I've changed the colour, wheels and tyres and added decals. The colour is rattle can Plasti-Kote Metalic Red, the wheels Watanabe spoked, which are normally seen on Mark 1 & 2 Ford Escort Rally Cars.
Twokidsnosleep Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Nike looking build, love the trunk detail pinstripe I just got this kit last week and hope to do something custom to it You have been making some great builds!!!
PatW Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 Thanks guys, I'm out in the cabin again today looking for bits to build a rat '50's pickup!
72 Charger Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Very nice . I think one of your rear tyres is on backwards .
PatW Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 (edited) Yes Dave it may well be, I wondered why it went round corners funny! Luckily enough they slide off OK. Yes I just looked the tread points towards the front but the smooth section is on the outside (!) whereas the right hand one as we look at it in the photo has the smooth area inwards!. Thanks Dave and Dan for your comments. Edited May 13, 2015 by PatW
Twokidsnosleep Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Sharp eye on that Dave guy..missed that Thinking about doing this kit as a convertible with a chop top....any thoughts Patrick???
PatW Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 Yep Scott, I thought of that with the full detail version, but this being the quickbuilder there's no interior or engine/fuel tank.
Twokidsnosleep Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Yep Scott, I thought of that with the full detail version, but this being the quickbuilder there's no interior or engine/fuel tank. Ahh, so I am really in for it then Cheers
PatW Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 (edited) Yea go on search one out and chop the roof off it! Edited May 14, 2015 by PatW
Twokidsnosleep Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Got a cheap one enroute already Makes sense why so cheap since it has no interior or engine I will just scratch together something convertible and wild Sorry to deviate from your build....it is a great result. You have been putting together some wild builds lately Congrats
