I've locked a couple of my topics before. One, my Cal-look Beetle, since I've not felt the urge to finish it and just felt it was right to lock it for the time being. The other one I've locked was about legality of doing a commercial model kit in resin since it was answered pretty quickly and accurately.

Wonder how long this topic will last before being locked after veering off-course....

Too many have "Frail" egos here . I have been asked why I seldom post . The answer is simple . Nearly everything I say is taken out of context . Too many want to "Goad me " into a fight and I have the fact is to back up anything I do post . Besides , I don't have time to post my reasons for why I build old annuals or other such ......................

Why do people lock their own topics here? It makes no sense. It's irritating.

My guess: the OP thinks his thread has gone off the rails or has gone off in a direction he doesn't like.

Wanna get back at them? Lock this thread. ;):P

Sometimes the OP locks the thread because the question posed in the topic has been answered and thus the thread's purpose is complete. It is only logical to lock when further discussion would have no purpose..

My reasons from my experience:

1 Trolls

2 Thread goes completely off the rails due to reason number one.

3 Question has been answered. Why leave it open for twenty more responses of the same answer worded differently? To me, that's more irritating than a locked topic.

4 Thread gets combined with a topic from 2007 and buried under humpteen pages.

We used to have the option of deleting a thread. If we still had that option, no one would even see a locked topic and it could save on bandwidth.
