Mrjeffrey Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 so i started with the amt wrecker peterbilt, then i wanted an extra set of matching wheels for one of my next builds, so i figured id do a single axle dump truck put some paint on the box got the interior done, nothing real fancy inside, lowered seat and big shifter got the suspension on the frame and the motor mounted got the cab lights on and hood and grill together couple pics of the dump sitting roughly in place and this is as far as i made it for another 3 weeks
gatorincebu Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Luke, Thatis looking real nice thus far. I like your color choice. And the dump box doesn't look too bad either. Be Well Gator
Mrjeffrey Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 just waiting on some styrene to build a hoist and hinge setup, gotta put a visor on it then the odd little touch up
Mrjeffrey Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 got the dump actually installed on the truck, with a working cylinder, also added a set of 8 inch stacks getting close to finished
gatorincebu Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 That is looking good! Though i am not sure if I like the large diameter stacks? Be Well Gator
Kenny B Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I'm with Gator. It looks like you are using 1/2" tube for the stacks. If this is the case you would have 12 1/2 " pipes on a 1:1 truck.
LineDigger87 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 What size styrene to you use for the hoist n hinges..im doing the same thing for my Mack B81
waterburybob Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 The stacks make the truck look more like a toy , my opinion put more realistic looking stacks on and it would look much better.
Mrjeffrey Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 It's 3/8 tube for the stacks. Amd I honestly don't know the size for the hoist, I just had a huge pack of styrene off eBay and just fit together what worked. I had to put tape around some of it to keep it tight in the others so the dump would stay positioned
