He worked in his father's jewelry store as a young man. One day his father pointed out a car that was sitting at the curb outside the store and asked him what he thought of it. It was a one year old '32 Chevy... he said he liked it, and his father said he was glad he did because it was HIS. Yes, his father had bought him the car. This was the car that he courted my grandmother in, and I have a photo of him behind the wheel of it.

Art Anderson Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Nice build, just one correction though: Your MPC '32 Chevy is a Cabriolet, not a roadster. Cabriolet had a fixed windshield, and roll up windows, where the roadster still had a separate, bolted on windshield, and used snap on sidecurtains. Still though, a very handsome car! Art
Eric Macleod Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 It is funny how Art and I think alike! He is absolutely right, this car is a cabriolet. Have a look at the fine '31 Cadillac restoration that converted a Cabriolet to a Roadster in the "under glass" to see a nice conversion. I agree this is a fine build. Keep on keeping on! E-

Now I don't know which car my grandfather actually had, and he's no longer around to answer questions. He called it a roadster, and he did trade it in on a Graham sedan when my father was born.

I have a couple of working sessions to finish and submit completed. My goal with this model was to return to the hobby after 5 or 6 years away. (Sorry for my english!)
