Can't get my head round this anymore so I'll just spectate from now on.

Looks like one of the posted photos is missing.

Yes, I tried to add a second photo by editing the post but it's all changed and I can't follow it. I'll have another crack at it tomorrow but I'm hopeless at everything digital.

I think I've got it now (?)

But I don't get the new edit function - "reason for edit" - and I sorely miss the "preview post" function.

For Mr. Welda and others...

There are several ways but this one always works.

You'll have to have p-bucket AND the MCM forum thread you want to put the photo in open in two browser windows simultaneously.

1) Bring up p-bucket and open the photo you want to load into your thread on the MCM forum.

2) On the right side there's a menu called "share links". Left-click on the "IMG" one. It will momentarily turn yellow, to let you know it's been copied. (Sometimes depending on your browser, who's been diddling with the p-bucket functionality, or the phase of the moon, you won't get the yellow flash. In that case you MAY have to right-click on the "IMG" address and copy it).

3) Go back to your thread page. Position the cursor where you want the photo to appear, and press "Ctrl-v" ("paste"). The photo address will come up in the thread window.

4) When you hit "post", the photo will appear.

OR.... If you're looking at thumbnails in a particular album, hover your cursor over the photo you want to put on MCM.

3 little white bars come up in the lower left corner of the thumbnail.

Hover over the bars and another menu opens above them in the thumb.

Left-click "share links"

A big white box will drop down with another menu on the right.

Left-click the "IMG" choice, which will flash yellow as above.

Same steps 3 and 4 as described above.

sorry Bill none of that advice works here. I use imageshack and it doesn't work like you describe.

but what it sounds like you are doing is cutting and pasting the url for the photograph, and possibly automatically putting either img tags or url tags around it. neither work for me. and even if they did that's not really how this is supposed to work. 3 days ago I did this test and it worked...I posted a photo here via the insert other media button. now all it does is stall. its a bug not a feature and I am sure it will be cleared up soon. what time is it right now?

thanks though

yes Don I posted those by uploading them to this site via the well hidden "choose files" button of some sort below

I thought they disappeared too, possibly some moderation is required. or maybe they killed off all the stored photos. at this point, who knows.

heres one posted that way:

I have mentioned Imgur at least a dozen times on this site and have been ignored each time. It is bare bones, stupid easy and works on every single site I have ever been on.

Yes, "insert other media" didn't work for me either, that's where I got frustrated. So I went back to the method I've always used (!) :

Open Photobucket in a new tab and go to "library".

Under each photo is a list - email, direct, HTML and IMG. In IMG copy the URL, then leave P/bucket and go back to MCM. In your new post, click where you want the image to be and paste the URL there. (At this point you could open P/bucket again and grab another image in the same way.)

NOTE: Only the URL will show but it will appear as the actual image AFTER you've submitted your post. Previously you could see your images before posting by using the "preview post" function and I'd like to see that re-instated.

thanks for the tip peekay, but still I don't think it works for me.

pasted url here, I believe it will just show the url in the posted message...hope I am wrong:

nope, not wrong. and every time I try to post something, something else funny happens. very frustrating.

Copy and pasting the IMG code works but the "Insert Other Media" still just spins .  It was working when the site first changed and then Gregg switched to another format and everything quit working .

It doesn't really matter as long as there's at least one way to post photos , right ?

Nothin' hard about that.
