Jeff Johnston Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) Nice basic kit. This is the Revell most recent release. I fumbled around a bit with the rear suspension. This is one area that I'd suggest some more test fitting than I did. I had to oval out the wheel backs so that the rear end sat lower. Totally me, not the kit. If I build this again I'll make sure the suspension is all the way down into its slot. I'd love to own one of these, exactly from this era. Edited August 12, 2015 by Jeff Johnston
Foxer Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Looks real good! The wheels look great .. such a pain to do with the black centers. I have a set for a 944 I owned I'm building and painting the wheels has really slowed me on it. How did you mask the wheels?
Jeff Johnston Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Mike. I actually hand painted the centers. I first stripped the chrome in Castrol Super clean, and painted them Rustoleum chrome over gray primer. This took it down to a brushed aluminum look. Then I used a teeny brush and painted the outside edge Testors Acryl Semi Gloss black. Then I used a soft wiser brush once I has cut it in.
Dominik Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 came out very nice. what kit is it from Revell? can you post the boxcover?
