Al Hoffman Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Should have this one done shortly. It's a Jimmy Flintstone resin body. AMT '49 Ford donor. From there the interior & decals are from the Revell '49 Merc. Made my on tuck & roll dash top & package shelf. It will have a Parts Pack Cadillac engine. Can't remember where I got the trans from. In the process of adapting the '49 Ford exhaust to the engine & Lake's pipes. I am to the point now where everything I'm doing is fighting me so I'm going slow to hopefully not mess up.
mod3l Lover Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Hey Al, That is one sweeeeet looking shoebox youhave going there! I have been interested in thatbody for a while. It looks great, I will be watching. David S.
Ramfins59 Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Wow, that looks really sharp Allan. I love the color, and the interior looks great. Wonderful work so far.
JTalmage Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Beautiful so far! I've been tempted to get that body as well... but I don't have enough chassis/interiors to make more than 2 shoebox fords!
Al Hoffman Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 This is one of his $15.00 bodies. Worth the money but it takes a lot to get it to this point. For instance, on mine the slots that the radiator support slide into were each about half full of resin. It all had to be carefully hogged out.
JTalmage Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Thats usually one of those things that results in my lopping my finger open lol
Roncla Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 That is coming together nicely. I recently bought the same Flinstone body and was pleasantly surprised at how good the body is. I can't find any flaws with mine.
