DrKerry Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Mark will give more details on this. He had asked if I could post pics for him and I said you betcha. Here's the pics. Great build Mark!!!!!!
asfastasu Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Cool. What kit is that? Aftermarket? Always interested in wagons. Especially Mopars.
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 That is very interesting!Although I'm not much of a wagon guy, I have to say, that's a new one to me.I never knew anything like that existed. Steve
MGL Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Cool. What kit is that? Aftermarket? Always interested in wagons. Especially Mopars.Agreed, were can I find one? Nice work on this by the way.
peekay Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I like wagons and I like understatement - a nice dose of each here.
disabled modeler Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Thanks guys.... I made it from a 68 Plymouth GTX HT kit....I am a huge wagon nut of the 60s through mid 70s body styles. The companies need to make more of them for us from the 60s. I used a badly damaged 65 Chevelle/Malibu wagon and a bunch of extra parts to convert it into a 4door wagon...plus I used an old Johan chassis. I appreciate the comments guys..thanks.
Grumpa Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Wow Mark....this is nice. the fact that you were able to graft the different components from three different kits to come up with this....well...it fooled me into thinking that it was a resin aftermarket kit. Beautiful work!
disabled modeler Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Thank you Mark....the bodywork took me a month to get done...I have more wagons Id like to make in the future too...some my family owned when I was growing up.
disabled modeler Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Thanks Ray.....its not 100% accurate but good enough for me...I love my wagons...LOL..
peekay Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Mark, I'm even more impressed now that I know you did all the body work - I assumed it was a resin piece. VERY nice work!
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Yeah, you fooled me too.The color made me think that it was bare plastic.I thought I was looking at some sort of long lost promo!Good job Mark! Steve
disabled modeler Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Thanks Peter and Steve...means a lot coming from all you guys here. As you can see I am a wagon nut...LOL... I have many more I want to do yet too. The car was painted with Almond appliance paint.
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Wow, very nice conversion. Great job
om617 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Great job and very nicely done conversion. Agree with you on the wagons, cant get enough of them.
mike 51 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 (edited) My nieghbor has a real one....it looks very different, but that's an upside to modeling rare cars.nice job of mixing parts to "look" right Mark. Edited September 5, 2015 by mike 51
wayne swayze Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Mark....this is nice. the fact that you were able to graft the different components from three different kits to come up with this....well...it fooled me into thinking that it was a resin aftermarket kit. Beautiful work!X2!
Maindrian Pace Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Very nice, Mark. The Chevelle roof makes it look sleeker and more stylish than a factory '69 Belvedere wagon.
disabled modeler Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Thanks guys!.... yep the real 1 to 1 is a bit different...wish it could have been more accurate but had to work with what I had...LOL...
