TS Beautiful work. I like the steampunk-like touches particularly. Were they deliberate? steve

Yes, that is definitely the look I was going for. It’s actually based on a show car from about twenty years ago by Pinkee’s Hot Rods in Windsor, CO called “Loaded”. Instead of a show car though, I wanted it to look more like something that the owner might have built in his own garage, and drives. I purposely didn’t polish the brass components so they would tarnish and deepen in color naturally. The interior is made from craft foam that I rubbed with boiled linseed oil so it would look like worn suede. I’m very happy that you noticed the steampunk vibe! Thank you for your comment and question. TS 1

These are great Pete! I really love the RPU! I’m a big fan of RPUs, and yours looks just right. The stance, the slicks, old school wires, rag top, dull blue paint, all come together beautifully! I always admire your straightforward style. You invariably nail the stance and textures and the overall look. So, this is what happens when your attention is on building and not cruising the forum... this is a very impressive thread with '29s & '30s builds! This is before the class grew to the point of moving Street Rods to the other end of the hall! No kidding!! Added mine!

What brand and color of paints did you use on the frame, body, wheels and carb's? Hey, I just wanted to thank you for the tip on the Paint. I ended up using that same Tamiya AS19 'Intermediate Blue-US Navy' on my Hispano Suiza. Edited May 13, 2023 by Hoffman Sorry, I meant to send the photos to Michael Moskov. His beautiful Model A Coupe on page #3 is that nice Tamiya blue I referenced.
Dennis Lacy
Looking back through this thread I was surprised to find I had not shared this roadster. Based on the Revell ‘29 and HEAVILY kit bashed to 1946-1948 period correct. Up-top by Drag City Casting (which I created the master for.) Paint is Tamiya AS22 Dark Earth with their TS13 gloss clear. Dennis Lacy
Another Revell based ‘29 Roadster also heavily Kit bashed into a 1949-1951 period correct hot rod which was the very beginning of metallic paints. Drag City Casting up-top again. Tamiya TS59 Pearl Light Red.
