Harry Joy Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Put this together as a quickie. I'm on vacation this week, taking care of getting the garden ready for winter and such, and taking care my wife after a little surgery, but played around with this during football games. AMT kit, and kind of bare bones. There were a lot of molding issues, and I glued the hood in place to make getting the front bumpers right a little easier. I only put together the bottom of the engine. Duplicolor finish with Tamiya acrylics everywhere else. AMT aftermarket tires (LOVE them).
blunc Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 never seen vector wheels on one of those Rivieras, I think they look good.
RAMBENNA Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 looks great, I too like the wheels on this car
Bob Ellis Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 You can't beat the fidelity to shape on these old AMT annuals. Car looks great with those wheels.
charlie8575 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 The rims do look nice on it. Nice, clean build, and it looks a bit like Embassy Gold. Charlie Larkin
Harry Joy Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 Thanks again everyone. I went with Duplicolor Sunburst Gold. That's a modern Ford color, but it seemed close to what I wanted. I'm thinking about using the same color for a 1954 Bel Air at some point, and this was a bit of a test for it.
Harry Joy Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) She is doing fine now. She's getting better day to day. I tried like the dickens to convince her to pull out a kit and have a go at it while I was at work today. She loves getting hourly updates on my progress on each car I build, but doesn't want to take up the clippers and sanding sticks herself (except when she is doing her nails).
