gino Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 R.O.G. kit . aluminum fuel tanks from Spaulding, amt quarter fenders. I converted the kits cummins engine to a cat by cutting the top off the engine block, cutting same off a monogram cat block, and putting them together. that way I could do the engine install with no trouble and still use the kits tranny and driveshaft . It looks very convincing . I also used amt headlites which are smaller, the kit parts seem too big and don't look quite right to me. bare metal foil was used around the door jams before the doors were installed . also used it for the door handles, vent doors, and door hinges. 1
disabled modeler Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Very nice...! What did you use for the door hinges....? I have a few projects that need some.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Very nice KW!! Nice detail on the interior too!!
1959scudetto Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Very nice...! What did you use for the door hinges....? I have a few projects that need some.Mark, those hinges are plastic parts that are supplied in the kit (i have built RoG's KW Aerodyne Coe long ago).Very nice model, Gino! The weak point of this kit are the narrow tires.
gino Posted November 3, 2015 Author Posted November 3, 2015 thanks for the kind comments guys ! mark, as was stated by scudetto the kit comes with door hinges, however a company called the model car garage makes photo etch piano hinges for 1/25 model trucks. the are very tedious to assemble , but will work great. hope this helps :
Old Buckaroo Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Gino - I am very impressed with your trucks. Very nice work.
Kenny B Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Gino Nice work. The interior shot with the door opens looks real.
Old Albion Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Another great looking truck. It has the appearance of a vehicle that's about 3 or 4 years old. Maybe it's just the light, but I like it.
kilrathy10 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Heck of a job on this one, Man....This thing looks awesome....Excellent work on those doors.....
kevjoh Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) Neat idea with the engine, would never have thought of that. Will have to check that idea out, thanks for the tip.Hopefully the same idea will work with the Cat block in the KW or Pete snap kit Edited November 14, 2015 by kevjoh
