Old Buckaroo Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 What a fabulous trio ! I saw the movie when I was 12 and have been a Kenworth fan ever since. Very nice work and bonus points for the restoration of the truck and trailer - Wow.
Force Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) Nice work Dave.I also saw the movie back in when it came up here in 1978 at 14, it's one of my favourite movies and I saw it every time they re-ran it at the movies, and have seen it at least once a year since the video and DVD came and I have lost count on how many times I have seen it.I also have plans to build the Kenworth truck, Hobbs trailer and Pontiac Trans Am in the future. angelo7 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Absolutely great looking! Did you have a hard time with the trailer decals? I want to do a trailer for my Snowman too.
Brinx Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 This has been just a fantastic rebuild, I have really enjoyed watching your progress. You've inspired me to attempt a similar snowman rig which I might do sometime over the winter. Thanks for sharing Dave!
Atmobil Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Great job!! As the others, I love the movie and I seeing this makes me want to see it again.
towman1271 Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 Absolutely great looking! Did you have a hard time with the trailer decals? I want to do a trailer for my Snowman too. Thanks to everyone for their kind comments.. As for the trailer decals Angelo, they go on pretty nice. It is almost impossible to get out all of the Air bubbles due to the ribbed trailer. I actually put the trailer on its side, put a heavy layer of water down first before I applied the decal. its a 2 piece decal so I would do one section, wait a few days, then the other, wait & start the other side. I was worried the would rip, but jerry did an amazing job making them!
Tesla Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Those are fine looking builds...excellent work Dave!

10thumbs Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Looks like a great conversion Dave, well done.I'm a rookie, which trailer kit is used here? I like it.I have to out myself a huge fan of The Great One. Always have been as long as I can remember. Some of my 1st TV memories included him in many of his endeavors. I read a couple of biographies and they all stated the real reason he was happy to join Burt Reynolds in this film was because ole Burt knew how to have a good time off set. Read lots of drinking and partying. So, Mr. G said no problem, I like him already! How sweet it is.
