Greg Pugh Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Thank you so much for your comments!
Greg Pugh Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Wow Greg. That's looking great. What did you end up doing with those headlight we chatted about.I was using Google to determine how to go about doing the headlights (the wire mesh, what color the buckets were, etc) when I ran across a picture of a '54 Vette concept where they did not use a wire mesh and the bucket was all chrome with no paint. I thought "Well, I can do THAT!". I threw them in the body that way and thought it flowed well with the overall concept of the car. That was easy. Lol
Jantrix Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 That is very sharp looking. I like that you stuck with the I6 instead of throwing a generic Chevy V8 in there.
fseva Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I love how beautiful that Anthracite Gray looks... almost like a black pearl, with a very satiny finish. Excellent work! I wish Testors would do that one in lacquer. Can't take the odor of their enamels. Also, an engine that is really miles above kit quality! But man, a 5-year commitment? You're the olympic athlete of model car builders!
Greg Pugh Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 But man, a 5-year commitment? You're the olympic athlete of model car builders! I probably should've said "on-and-off 5-year project". I worked on this one in the rotation of about two or three other models I'm working on. But either way, I'm happy to have this one on the shelf. Lol
Cardz Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Now that is slick. Not a fan of the supersized tires but for whatever reason they work on this body style. Great work!
wayne swayze Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Absolutely stunning! The nicest '53 Vette I've seen! Wow!
Custom Mike Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Beautiful Greg, simply beautiful! The color choice is perfect, the whole thing looks just right!
bill_67 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 That car turned out so beautiful, extremely photogenic. The rear 3/4 shot really shows how the lines flow.
peekay Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I'm not into pro touring and over-sized wheels at all but this is beautifully conceived and built. Excellent!
DeeCee Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I could not of imagined such an ugly model car could look so good!!! BEAUTIFUL work mate, very well done..
10thumbs Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 What a beautiful model! You really do excellent work. Beautifully photographed too. Great job!Looks like you polished the front glass too, very nice. I like too that the red interior is not a bright shade, but toned down. Very classy.
1930fordpickup Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 What not to like , color , wheels, engine and stance all great in my book.
Dennis Lacy Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 There's nothing more boring than another stock vintage 'Vette. This thing is plain BAD! Awesome work!
nutboltu Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 not a huge fan of massive wheels, but this car is so beautifully done, those wheels look right on it.
cruz Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Not a fan of the wheels/tires combo but you did a terrific job on everything else. Love the paint job. Did you airbrush the finish from the Testors enamel paints? I absolutely love that color.

Did you airbrush the finish from the Testors enamel paints? I absolutely love that color.Yes, the color is from their Model Master line. I thinned it out and airbrushed it.
Greg Pugh Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 Again, thank you everybody!! It means a lot!
