Old Buckaroo Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Very cool, be sure to post lots of pics on how you use the frame
gatorincebu Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Interesting combination of cab and dump body ! Looking forward to following the build thread . Be Well Gator
Mopar - D Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Thanks for the approval of my build I will be taking lots of pictures of my progress. This truck is going to be similar to the first real big truck that I was able to get a ride in when I was a 15 year old kid. All I remember is it was a 10 wheeler Brockway and a cool looking truck.
jacobus Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 great choice and also a memorylane buildwil look how it is when he is finishd as a dumper
Mopar - D Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 I've got the resin cab setting in some Wesly bleach to clean off any left over mold release.
vettecote Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I have the DM600 in my stock, watching closely...Joe
Mopar - D Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 No progress on the Brockway this month just reporting in for the month of February. I was able to finish up my 65 Satellite and making progress on the Bighorn.
Mopar - D Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 Checking in for the March posting still no progress. I'm working on the Bighorn to get it finished for a show in April. This on will be next on the bench.
Mopar - D Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 My April check in for BRBO. I'm going to enter my Bighorn build in the Modelmana show that's on April 23 so I will be getting the Brockway underway very shortly. I'm planning to dechrome the dump body and make it a aluminum body.
Mopar - D Posted April 17, 2016 Author Posted April 17, 2016 Question......what engines were used in this 758 Brockway?
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 The 759's and the 761's offered NH230 Cummins, 6-71N Detroit, in single axle and NH 230 Cummins, VT-903 Cummins, 6-71N, 8v-71N Detroit in tandem trucks as well as plenty of other options. The 758 was probably about the same. The 1674 Cat was offered in the 761 tandem. There's a Brockway (not sure of the model) just up the road from me that has a Detroit (there's no doubt when you here it), but I'm not sure what size. I'm kind of partial, but you can't go wrong with a Detroit.
