Seeing Tulio's gorgeous 56 Vicky made me want to post mine. This is actually the build that got me started doing bx art models, as the box this came out of had the hideous red and white build up on the box with the front 12 spoke Halibrands on one side and the chrome reverse rear wheels on the other.  Gaaaack!

Anyway, this is painted with plain ol' Testors enamels out of a rattle can, and is my very first ever Bare Metal Foil job. Underneath that foil is some pretty nice silver painted trim, but.... There are some added details on this kit, including plug wires, (at one time it also had heater hoses, too. I also made rear window trim and visors from Evergreen plastic.  The fender skirts are cut down from the AMT 49 Merc. Enough Yak. here it is...

Not too bad for a 26 year old survivor?

She's a beauty!!!

Also loved your work for the box art of the '57 Ford. That red a black beauty inspired me more than I can say in words.

My very first foil job was on a '64 Impala, that was also the very first model I painted with a rattle can. Before that I used to ruin them with a brush...

It was circa 1990/1991... I have to dig it up someday. It's inside it's box somewhere in my stash.

Hi Tulio, actually, Terry Jessee did the red and black 57 Ford, along with the purple custom on the side panel. I did the box top car (mint green and white) that was also used on the three car set with a 63 Galaxie and a 57 T Bird. You do beautiful work.

I have always liked this model but doubt I will get to build it. Just toooooo  many other projects :)

What I would really like to know is how well did this Ford sell in the 1-1 real world? Could that greenhouse be covered over as I would guess it could get rather hot inside even with air-conditioning of those days. I had a modern car with a small slide back sunroof but could never drive it on a hot day with the glass panel unshaded.

Sorry about the mess up Dave.

You guys both did great, and have being priceless inspiration for me over the years.

The black and red car impressed me a lot as I was afraid of trying a black paint job. That car gave me the will to give it a try.

I built a green car to "copy" that box art the first time I got that kit (and it was a very poor job at it...). I have to get around to restore that model, as she got badly damaged when I moved (the box she was in got crushed and the front of the roof had a close encounter with the steering wheel and dash). I think I can fix her just making new pillars up front, and covering the fix with new foil, but every time I look at the wreck... Well you know what I mean.

By the way, do you know who built the Raven Black  and Inca Gold Fairlane on the box top of newer reissues of that kit? That is one of my favorite color combos for 1957. Just behind Inca Gold and Colonial.

I wish I did, but that was after my time. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say Steve Goldman.

Thank you Dave!! And also thank you for your work, you have no idea how the box top builds were important to me.
