AaronPerkins Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 At a thrift store. Side project while I work on the B.R.B.O.
AaronPerkins Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 I'm not an engine guru by any means. Does anyone know if this is just a 350 in this van or not.? I'm having trouble finding a concrete answer.
62rebel Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 typical small block chevy. it can be whatever in that family you want it to represent.

Roadrunner Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I used to watch that show regularly.
Slomoslam Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 "I pity the foo who watched that show"- Mr. T
1930fordpickup Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Mr T the only guy with asbestos skin on TV. Yes I watched it also.
louie Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I actually watched a re-run of the show the other day ( first time in 25 years ) and I loved it all over again, hahaha. I apologize for turning your thread into a TV show. I like the subject matter and your kit. Definitely a good score finding it at a thrift store. Thanks. Jeff
disabled modeler Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Cool find...another note is I believe its the only van like this with the proper roof ribs they had...and it still has Mr T in it. All small block Chevys from this era look the same.
iamsuperdan Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I've been trying to find that kit, but not from EBay where they're all more than I want to spend! The A-Team and Knight Rider. Two shows that totally remind me of my youth. Unfortunately, when you go back and watch them now, they don't quite hold up. Especially Knight Rider. Wow. Just wow.
geemoney Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 In my town there is a ford van with a rattle can paint job like this!!!

That's so true, I use to watch Knight Rider more than scrambled cinemax. I tried to sit through an episode awhile back and I found it to be an impossible task. I'm not sure how a watch can pick a dead bolt lock, but okay.
Maindrian Pace Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 The Boys get captured by bad guys, thrown into a cave and the opening sealed.A few minutes later:B.A. - "Look, Hannibal, I found a complete, operational welding outfit, a running fork lift, gas cylinders, and items that we can combine into improvised explosives to blow the bad guy's Jeeps onto their roofs while they try to chase us!"It was a simpler time.
AaronPerkins Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 I found it at a thrift store for 20 bucks. Got to looking at the instructions, the model, and some 1:1 reference stuff and figured out the engine could be almost non existent. The hood doesn't open and seems like there's a plate that goes along the bottom for the interior to sit on.
Jonathan Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Great score! And yeah, I watched it, too. I think my Mom let me watch it b/c nobody actually got hurt / killed and there was no cussin'. My Dad preferred Hee Haw. Anywho ... sure wish they'd reissue this kit, if it's possible.
