charlie8575 Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I remember somebody was offering a conversion for the Revell 1950 Olds to the fastback. I don't believe it was Hendrix or Flintstone (although I could be wrong- there's don't look like they're designed for it.)Anyone have a pointer in the right direction?Charlie Larkin
om617 Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I bought my body from Flintstone, actually a very nice cast for a change with very little clean up. The mold release is another story.
mopargreg Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Tom Coolidge made them but he no longer makes them. MCW resin also sells a 50 olds fastback
modelercarl Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) I bought one from Best Model Car Parts (www.bestmodelcarparts.com) last year. It kit contains the body shell, inner door panels, rear bumper, seats, interior rear floor panel, rear body flange and templates for the new window glass required. Have not built it yet but the castings look very good with minimal cleanup required.Sorry, I don't remember what I paid for it.OOOOPS! Reread your post and saw "fastback" not station wagon which I responded with. Age is catching up with me. Edited February 11, 2016 by modelercarl wrong response to original post
MrBuick Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Flintstone has it, I ordered one a few month's ago and it's very nice...I haven't built it yet, but the body looks great as it sits. Someone on the forum is looking to get rid of one http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/108531-50-olds-fastback-resin-body-jimmy-flintstone/
PowerPlant Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I only just noticed this topic... I had that fastback body, it's traded now, but I got it a while ago in another trade here, along with the Revell Olds, and I was told it's a Jimmy Flintstone piece... Either way, I tried it on the Revell chassis and it fit perfectly I hope this helps...
Motor City Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Flintstone has it, I ordered one a few month's ago and it's very nice...I haven't built it yet, but the body looks great as it sits. MrBuick Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Good eye, not many people seem to know that the Apollo exists! The photo is of a '74 Apollo GSX, but that one in the picture isn't mine. I own a '73 that I rescued from a salvage yard that I'm slowly working on...my long term plans are to auto cross it, so I'm gonna be doing a lot of suspension work in the future. Here's mine as it sits now (technically I have two, but the black one is a donor). It's pretty rough right now...I put the engine in at the salvage yard so I could drive it home, so I was more concerned about getting from A to B than cleaning up and making it pretty...that'll come with time.
Rob Hall Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 MCW also lists a resin '50 Olds fastback, along w/ a 2dr sedan and Holiday hardtop.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Just a reminder...with careful measuring and cutting, it's really not that difficult to build your own. Semi how-to here...
