StevenGuthmiller Posted April 14, 2016 Author Posted April 14, 2016 Steve, that air cleaner may have taken a lot of time, but it's well worth it! Little details like that really make a model stand out. Thanks Dennis! My biggest concern was figuring out how I was going to mask that perfect circle.Especially the "center".It came out pretty well.I knew a decal was not really any option without finding someone to make one for me & I really wanted to utilize the original casting if possible anyway. Steve
59-Desoto Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Awesome detail work, you sure know how to make an old Mopar guy smile
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 14, 2016 Author Posted April 14, 2016 Awesome detail work, you sure know how to make an old Mopar guy smile I'm an "old Mopar guy" too Gene. These old unusual kits sure make me smile working on them.I think my next one might be a '65 Plymouth Fury hard top.Either that or a '63 Fury or '62 Dart. StevenGuthmiller Posted April 24, 2016 Author Posted April 24, 2016 Still hoping to finish this one up before the 1st of May, but the real car has been keeping me busy on the weekends lately, & I don't seem to get a lot done during the week. Getting close though, & I did manage to finish up the engine this afternoon. Hopefully I'll get a little more done this evening. The engine is straight from the box with a little detail added. Steve
afx Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 For someone that doesn't like building engines you sure build some nice ones Steve.
charlie8575 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Nice job, especially that air cleaner.Charlie Larkin
Rider Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Wow, your BMF, and paint are show room quality, nice work.
Dann Tier Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 For someone that doesn't like building engines you sure build some nice ones Steve. My same thought
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 28, 2016 Author Posted April 28, 2016 Thanks guys! I'm relatively confident that I should have this one wrapped up sometime this weekend. All of the components are done & detailed & ready for final assembly. Hopefully you can expect it in "under glass" in a few days. Thanks for all of the interest & kind comments everyone! Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 Whew! My goal was to finish this one by the first of May! I guess I made it.....just barely! Look for it very soon in the "Under Glass" section. Thank you all so much who followed me on this build. You all keep the fire burning in me to complete these kits & I am eternally grateful! Steve
CometMan Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Very, very, well done Steve! Another super build from you!
