om617 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) Call this one done, some minor touch ups before it goes on the shelf. Resin body from southern motorsport hobby, interior from AMT 70 Coronet, chassis and everything including buckets from Revell 68 Charger. The color is Burnt Orange CK8 Matt automotive, clear from Mr Hobby. I should get into the sand/polish thing but i did not on this. Big thanks to David Sutherland for helping out with the Magnums and to Gene Gigandet for the plated parts. Overall i`m okay with it despite the bad "ultra chrome" from BMF,kinda ruins the finish when it`s an constant job to go back and make it stick properly,or it sticks too much. And wrong color, twice lol. Some pictures, thanks for looking. Edited February 24, 2016 by om617
Fanof69 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Looks real good to me. Like it in that color, although some of pics it looks somewhat pinkish. Might be my monitor. Good job regardless!!
gtx6970 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 On my monitor . it just looks orange. But it looks killer.
Modlbldr Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Very nice work on this one. Love everything about it.Later-
Speedfreak Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Very nice job Tommy, good job of putting everything together to make this happen. I like the color combo as well. Not a car seen often 1:1.
StevenGuthmiller Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Killer Tommy!Although I think I'd shoot a coat of white on the top.The overlap on the top is too evident & the body color seems to be showing through on the rest of it.Other than that, it's as sweet as sweet can be!! Steve
om617 Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 Thanks for the feedback. Really dumb rookie mistake with bodycolor under the vinyl top,it does however not show looking at it,the blitz add a lot. Also since some foil is loose on the top molding, there is a orange gap,i will tuck it down again. Lesson learned for another time, only primer under vinyl roof.
High octane Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Great job on that Coronet as I just love dem Mopars! I have a builder '68 Coronet R/T that I'm takin' to the local swap meet this weekend.
V8 Trucker Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Very nice Mopar. Looks very well built. I agree, great results
