Dragfreak Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) This car started off as a glue bomb that I built years ago. I wanted to build a gift for my high school shop teacher so I pulled it apart and started building. I originally wanted to build a late 70's style bracket car but as I shared the build on my instagram ( Brunelles_scalemodels ) account, many urged me to build a Yenko style replica. I made way too many modifications to list so please ask questions if there's something you'd like to know. The paint is Plastikote metallic gold, the same color I used to repaint the brake booster on my truck. Feel free to ask questions and give me advice! Edited February 25, 2016 by Dragfreak

Davewilly Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Looks super nice! That Gold is great color/shade. if I might ask what color was the primer you used under it?
69NovaYenko Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) Outstanding build....truly digging on your rare era correct color chose.Factoid: There were only ten Yenko prepped 427 `69 Camaro`s painted in Olympic Gold. For additional inspiration check out the feature article "1969 Chevy Camaro COPO Yenko-Solid Gold" from Super Chevy magazine: http://www.superchevy.com/features/sucp-0607-1969-chevy-camaro-copo-yenko/ Edited February 25, 2016 by 69NovaYenko

That Gold is great color/shade. if I might ask what color was the primer you used under it? I used regular krylon grey primer Outstanding build....truly digging on your rare era correct color chose. It looks like I got a few cosmetic details like the grille and air dam wrong, but like they say, you learn something new everyday Edited February 26, 2016 by Dragfreak
slusher Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Super cool Camaro. Real nice touch on the gold..
mikemodeler Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Great job on that Jason and with that cage, that thing should hold up to many runs down the dragstrip! Love the color keyed wheels and overall stance. One suggestion though, the front chin spoiler on Camaros had a matte black finish on them.
Renegade Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Great look. Like the steel wheels. Very nicely built.
kforbus Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 You totally nailed it with the gold paint and basic wheels. Looks really tough.
Dragfreak Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Thanks guys!Great job on that Jason and with that cage, that thing should hold up to many runs down the dragstrip! Thank you for the suggestion, I noticed that I got the color wrong after I got the car all together. Unfortunately it's too late because I already gave it to my teacher. lghtngyello03 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Awesome build with a rare color combo too! I have one of these in my stash. I haven't decided if I want to do Daytona Yellow or Lemans Blue yet.
Hubert Rollins Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 That's a real nice build- great job on the details. Nice paint job to have come from a plasti cote can. Does that stuff always go on good? I've not been able to find it around where I live.
