...You and me both. BUT--from what I have gathered and seen in pictures, the soon to be released 1965 Belvedere from Moebius will have some pretty sweet Max Wedge manifolds as well as the dump tube exhaust. I have one reserved at my LHS for a build I'm doing now. I'll try to find the post...here it is

On page two of the thread `65 Plymouth Hemi Super Stock "Melrose Missile" Moebius/Model King which is found in the Car Kit News & Reviews section; Dave Metzner posted test shot photos of Moebius soon to be released `65 Plymouth Belvedere I.  The kit will feature the factory dual exhaust Max-Wedge exhaust system with cut-outs that you are seeking.

They are in the new '65 Belvedere Sedan kit as I saw one of the test shots last Saturday at a club meeting, and like MIke says you can also find them in the Polar Lights '65 Coronet kits as well.

So the Melrose Missile uses the Max Wedge Exhaust with the Hemi. Is that the correct exhaust for the Hemi or are they just using that one for performance reasons. If so what would be the correct exhaust for the Hemi in 64 ?

If you can't wait, the same exhaust is in the Polar Lights "65 dodge Pre-painted kit.

Yes this exhaust system is in the Polar Lights 65 Dodge kits...why they chose to give them a 426 Max Wedge engine is a bit intriguing as the 426 Race Hemi wich came in 1964 was the engine all racers wanted...and not many street cars were equipped with a Max Wedge.

Max wedges cars used a single head pipe

Hemi cars used the snake looking setup with  4 pipes per side as shown above

The Hemi dint come out till mid year 1964. So the max wedge was still avail the 1st part of 1964.

But was long gone by 1965

I was just doing some more research and found information on the 64 Hemi exhaust just as you posted. Thanks

So actually I need one of each as I am building  Hemi Dodge and a Max Wedge Plymouth , (unless I change my mind and switch them around )

That's why I thought the engine choice in the Polar Lights 65 Dodge kits was a bit strange, they should have had the Hemi instead of a Max Wedge for the racing version.

So enlighten me folks in '64 Mopar released a 426 "Street Wedge" which I understand came from the factory in passenger cars and raced in the streets. How was it different from the 426 "Max Wedge" and the 426 "Race Hemi".  In appearance the  426 "Street Wedge" Hemi phase III with the dual quad cross ram intake was in 1964 and was available to the general public. The 426 "Race Hemi" was not that readily accessible to Joe blow public. I was told that visually the only way to tell a 413, 426 Street Wedge, 426 Max Wedge or 440 for that mater is by the  blocks serial numbers . True or false. So when you hear someone 1964 say they had 436 Hemi car they ran on the streets it was most likely  a 426 "Street Hemi" like the one pictures below.

For the max wedge exhaust , use the aforementioned Polar Lights Dodge stuff.

For the Race hemi , either find a set from a Johan kit  Or wait till the Melrose Missle car hits the shelves exhaust.thumb.jpg.5a5fd3c90839a90fc9d818

About the only thing a 426 street wedge and a 426 Max wedge share ,,is cubic inches .

They are very different engines and applications.

with the biggest differences be the heads and intake . The intake port on a max wedge is about a half inch longer compared to a street wedge of any size . All max wedge engines have the crossram intake with 2 carbs.Gigantic intake ports combinded with  those uniquely shaped exhaust manifolds .

All 426 street wdge engines just have a sinlge 4 barrel carb, chrome valve covers and chrome air cleaner  ( the currently avail Moebius 65 Satellite depicts a 426 street wedge car )

True, sort of. If all you have is the block, you need the casting numbers found on the side to truely determine what it is/was.

The Hemi was introduced mid year 1964 and was RACE Hemi only ( there is a Nascar version as well as a drag race version ) . The 1st year for the street Hemi was 1966

426 Street Wedge block was also available in 1964 and 1965. It bears little relation to the Max Wedge except for basic architecture and dimensions. The Street Wedge was available only in B-body cars (Plymouth and Dodge) and light-duty Dodge D Series trucks. It was an increased-bore version of the standard New Yorker413 single 4-barrel engine.

From Wiki.

Yes the Polar Lights Dodge kit was probably meant to be a 426 Street Wedge car but they did include optional Max Wedge parts and a hood with the Max Wedge scoop for it to do a race car.
Well it was most likely easier than to have to tool up a complete for the time period more correct 426 Race Hemi including exhaust and a Hemi hood scoop for it.
By the way, both the 413, 426 Street Wedge, the 413, 426 Max Wedge and the 426 Hemi are based on the RB engine design (same as the 440) and many parts will fit between them.
The 1964-65 Race Hemi differs some from the 1966-71 Street Hemi appart from the internals and the induction systems (Race Hemis had cross ram and dual carbs for drag racing or single carb intake for NASCAR and Street Hemi's has dual carb inline intake manifold), especially in the head department as the head castings for the Race Hemi are different from the production Street Hemi wich had some modifications done to the shape of them, so you can't take valve covers from a Race Hemi and put them on a Street Hemi or the other way around because they will not seal.

So does the kit come with both the Max Wedge and the Hemi exhaust systems?

I wrote this days ago . Why does it dissappear ? I am unable to access my build up of the Praying Mantis '65 Dodge Cornet . This kit has the Dual Exhaust / Cut Outs   along with the proper Stage 3 & 4 Headers . Would someone verify this ?   Thanx ..
