crazyjim Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Picked this puppy up in a trade and didn't realize there's no engine, the chassis is all molded in 1 piece, has metal axles, and is held together with 4 screws. So I built a straight out of the box build. Decided to try something different with the paint too. I used Duplicolor dark grey primer and after it dried I mixed some Pearl Ex antique silver with HOK SG100 intercoat clear and laid it down. Then a clear coat.
Jmaracing Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Wow Jim! This looks awesome. All your builds are amazing. Great job!!!!!
goodolboy Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Wow that color is awesome! Great job on the built too
Speedfreak Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Wow, Jim, that's a beauty! That paint job is really nice, I like that you came up with it yourself. Those wheels look great too, nice job all round!
CometMan Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Nice job on one you don't see too often Jim!
Kit Basher Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 That's a real looker, Jim. The paint is fantastic. Isn't Pearl Ex fun?
AC Norton Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 ........never wanted one of these kits, but i'll be getting one as fast as I find one up here....that's just lovely....great looking build.....the Ace....
disabled modeler Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Jim..your welcome. Love to see the big old 60s/70s cars...classy and performance in one package. I knew it was a curbside but missed them when they were out. Some people hate curbside kits...they can make beautiful replicas just like this one.
wayne swayze Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Sweet! Very sophisticated! The colour really suits it.
crazyjim Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 I was pretty disappointed in the kit, Mark. I just assumed it was a full kit. It came out OK though.
