Brent Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Not sure if I ever posted this one. Built the car first then decided might look nice to have a matching truck to go with it. The truck I picked up at a local toy/pawn type shop and stripped it, rebuilt it. Not sure why I did that as I have an unbuilt kit sitting on the shelf. Guess I was up for a challenge. Rims and tires were off of a Dubs diecast if I remember correctly. Shelby was a kit bash that went extremely well. Both bodies seemed to be very close so wasn't much modifications needed to make it all work. Some minor cage rework if I remember correctly. Scratch built headers from Soldier and Styrene. Only body mods were the lower front valence and hood scoop. Edited February 28, 2016 by Brent
futurattraction Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Super sharp looking combo, Brent! Looks perfect...

Brent Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 Thanks guys! Wow John Pol long time, great to hear from you. I am not building as much as I was back when but still plugging away when time permits. Still absolutly love the hobby, still have an entire room in my house filled with kits. I can see myself building a lot more once i'm retired which is many many years down the road. Somethign to look forward to I guess. Until then I'll keep plugging along. This was the latest build i did. And the finished product...
Old Nasty Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Beautiful. I really like the paint. I believe the valve covers are upside down though.
Brent Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 I just went and looked. If they are upside down the lettering on them is also upside down ;-) Thanks for the comments guys.

Brent Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) Perhaps the wires are in the wrong holes then. LOL yep looks like it. The plug wires are just disconnected and hanging down....;-) lol Edited February 29, 2016 by Brent
Jeepxj Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Wow,that is some great job you did.The car, truck, and trailer, are amazing looking.?
bobthehobbyguy Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Nice work. Plug wires are right because the engine is 429 not 427 sohc. Its amazing that the chassis was so close. Love the paint. Very cool.
ChrisR Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Not mad about the wheels on the truck but otherwise an awesome build!
Brent Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 Thank again everyone. I wondered how I could have messed that up, thx Bob for setting that straight. The trailer kit was the AMT display trailer. See if this link works.https://www.google.ca/search?q=AMT+display+case+trailer&biw=1164&bih=817&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwib-dSKpajLAhUX22MKHT29CFgQ_AUIBygC
Canso65 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Great color scheme. I really like the stance of the truck as well.
