gtx6970 Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) Well, after a paint issue with the hood maybe 3 years ago,,. I lost interest in it and put it away. My resolution this year was finish a lot of stalled projects before starting anything new. This is one of them. Lindberg Ramchargers kit with the AMT 1968 Roadrunner kit giving up its drive-train ( the actual car was a 4 speed but the kit is an auto ) The front spindles were flipped to get the nose out of the weeds. I dont get into a lot of superdetailing , just a MAD supplied pre-wired distributor. I made some header extensions to replicate the 1/1 . Also made a single pot master cylinder to look more like a 1964 should. Decals I think might be Fred Cady ( not 100% sure though) The black wiring underhood was done with a sharpie,,I also drug the sharpie around the window frames to replicate the weatherstripping but you can barely even tell its there. I'm not real happy with the look of the carburetors,,but I looked thru my parts stash and found nothing I liked better. So they'll have to do till I come up with something better Hope you like it,,I sure do . And its another one in the case. ( But looking at these pics I see i forgot to added the headlight lenses and the DODGE emblem decals to the quarter panels. ) Edited March 1, 2016 by gtx6970
AC Norton Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 terrific piece, Bill......nice job getting this finished.....best,,,,the Ace......
Harry P. Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Aside from the points you mentioned... very cool. The "wiring" on the firewall and inner fenders looks good. The only problem is... you have graphics (decals) spanning across door lines.
V8 Trucker Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 successful model, in this version probably unique !!!
om617 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Very cool build Bill. I thought Jenkins was a Chevy guy.
gtx6970 Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) Thanks all, This build was always at the top of my to do list after seeing an interior video of Dave Strickler thrashing the daylights out of this car during a pass back in the day. This was my ultimate insperation. and the view of car I wanted to replicate. Very cool build Bill. I thought Jenkins was a Chevy guy. I think him and Strickler both were GM guys, at least up till about 1963 ,,,,,,But to win sometimes you have to join. And at the time the Hemi ruled the roost . Within a few years,,,they were both back in GM products Edited March 2, 2016 by gtx6970
bogger44 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 That's a sharp build. The flipped spindles improved the stance quite a bit. Congrats!
