JTalmage Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) Just finished this, it's 1 of 3 builds for an upcoming club theme... It was very fiddly and was sort of difficult to get to stay together. Thank goodness for super glue! I am leaving the entire top/sides unglued from the chassis for photo purposes. This was the trailer I attempted to spray with aluminum plate metalizer... and it was a real bear to buff out. Well, after I finished this I experimented with some BARE plastic parts.. and they buffed beautifully. Oh well, lesson learned. So since this thing was being a real bear, I took my red 3M scuff pad and scuffed it for that "brushed" look. The wheels are resin units I got off ebay from "hoppersbazaar" and they're really nice. I painted those in model masters chrome brush on paint. The tires are ironically the stock tires to the Revell '67 Camaro that I turned into the Crusher! And they fit the wheel backs fairly well and match with the wheels too. I hit the textured area of the trailer floor with some tamiya weathering powder silver to make it look like the black paint on the floor had worn thru. Hadn't done it yet to the trailer ramps. I also haven't glued on the front cargo box either. I'll take pictures when the entire race team is finished. Also haven't glued on the handles to the doors yet, nor the trailer lights/license plates... soon Took a moment to give a photo opp to the Crusher as well to see how out of scale this trailer really is LOL I also found several of my favorite race banners you'd see at the track and scaled them down close to 1/25 scale, and glued them on the walls inside the trailer. Gives it a more realistic touch I think. Also stuffed a Mustang inside too for a couple pics. Let me know what you think! Edited March 3, 2016 by JTalmage
High octane Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Looks like your trailer came out rather nice Jesse, and I see a lot of those at the local drag strips.
wayne swayze Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Good looking trailer. I like the inside ...very realistic!
JTalmage Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Thanks folks. Probably add the last bits on it tonight.
Phirewriter Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 (edited) Nice job. I've always liked this trailer. Not too big, very realistic and the choice of paint or clear display. The interior banners are a really nice touch.I wish Round2 would reissue this in the original MPC box. Edited March 12, 2016 by Phirewriter
unclescott58 Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 I'm little late on commenting on this one. Some how it slipped past me. I'm impressed. Your is the nicest build I've ever seem of this kit. And may push me to get mine done.
stavanzer Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 This thread is really relevant now that this has been announced for release sometime in 2019. I'll be referring back to your photos, once I build mine.
MeatMan Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Well done! I got one in a parts bundle but it was missing the wheel wells. I did mine in white, but I must admit that yours looks terrific in aluminum! The decals are a nice add!
