He passed from double pneumonia.

I am very saddened by the passing of Merle Haggard (the Hag) I have seen him many times in concert and play his music All the time.

Never been a fan, but I do know he was a giant in the country music world. RIP, Merle.

Merle was a great one I believed he played for Reagan in the White house. I always like the Working Man Blues and Kentucky Gambler..

It's next to impossible to hear old country (well, ok........even anything that actually sounds like country) on the radio around here, but got a shock on the way home when one of the stations played "Mama Tried" tonight. Found out he passed almost as soon as I walked in the back door after getting home.
