XJ6 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) I am very saddened by the passing of Merle Haggard (the Hag) I have seen him many times in concert and play his music All the time. Sad Day today in the Country Music Land Edited April 6, 2016 by XJ6
Harry P. Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Never been a fan, but I do know he was a giant in the country music world. RIP, Merle.
slusher Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Merle was a great one I believed he played for Reagan in the White house. I always like the Working Man Blues and Kentucky Gambler..
Joe Handley Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 It's next to impossible to hear old country (well, ok........even anything that actually sounds like country) on the radio around here, but got a shock on the way home when one of the stations played "Mama Tried" tonight. Found out he passed almost as soon as I walked in the back door after getting home.
cowboy rich Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 There goes the end of real country.Rest in peace Hagg.Rich
Joe Handley Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I was thinking the same thing until a few days ago Rich, but Chris Stapleton has been getting airplay here, sounds like he and his wife are finally getting their due, and they're anything but Justin and Selina with twang.
Danno Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 My all-time favorite Merle Haggard song. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uA-y1-aR6IQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
