Hey Folks,

Just finished a few new ones. Here's my latest. It's an AMT '63 Ford Galaxie built in the 'Kustom' tradition. Wheels and tires are from Modelhaus, and color is Model Master Pontiac Engine Blue......

I'll try and post some more pics soon.

Now that's a real nice looking model. I like the wheels you used. You evidently have some time invested. Great job.

Only showing one picture of a car that nice is like having a beautiful woman on the cover of a magazine to draw us in and then not showing us anymore afterwards!! :D

A great job on one of my favorite Fords. Clean building, great color, great period. I'm with the others, though- more pics, please.

Very nice Mike, paint is flawless!!! Are you going to Wayne saturday?

Hey Cruz. As of right now, yes, I'm planning to go to the NNL East. I think Mark Neary, my boy Alex and I are driving up together. Looking forward to it! See you there.

This is my first time building the old AMT '63 Galaxie. Now that I'm more familiar with this classic kit, I'm going to build another one, and spend a little more time finessing the fit and finish, and maybe add a bit more detail. This particular kit had some soft detail lines in the casting. I have an older release that is much more crisp. I think I'll build that one next. What a nice looking big Ford......they really nailed it in '63. Thanks for looking!

Yes, Ford (and the other Big Two) knew how to style 'em back then! I'd really, really like to see a return to more graceful lines on cars instead of the upright breadboxes that seem to persist. GM is getting there with some of their latest stuff, but the others need to follow suit including Ford!

Details I forgot to mention.....the gear shift lever is a straight pin dipped in CA, and coated with Candy Green to simulate the old acrylic gear shift balls. The carpet AND Headliner are flocked as well. All trim in the interior is Bare-Metal. The engine color is the new gold metalflake from Testors.

After seeing this on Saturday I like it even more. I thought I commented on this one but I haven't yet..... what's wrong with me???:lol: That interior work is smokin'! I still struggle the most with interior detail. ( I really like the work you put into the 69 Roadrunner too. I saw it at the Nov. meeting and got a couple pics of it. ) Hope to see you in May.

Thanks. After all these years, I'm just starting to get into interior detail. I've always loved doing the paint and exterior detail, but never really enjoyed interior, chassis, engine, etc. The more I learn, the more I'm starting to enjoy it. Engines are still a bit intimidating, but I'll get there! For now, I'm sticking to the basics.
