The front end is looking good. The grill would most definately be a challenge to get right and not look hobbled together.

I've been using the one from Micro-Mark for a few years with pretty good results. It's a bit of an initial investment, but with some practice you can make stuff you couldn't get otherwise.

Well you guys are in luck.  I showed the Ace to HRM and he is interested in casting it.  I still have quite a bit to do before I am able to turn it over to him though.

It strikes me that the swoop from the nose down to the fenders should have more of a rounded curve than the sharp corners shown here.

Thanks guys. Skip, yes the transition is a bit sharp.  However I found a lot of variation in the nose shape.  Being hand built cars this is understandable.  Some with a sharp transition some more rounded.

The Ace didn't have the spare tire recess in the "boot" like the Cobra.  After cutting it off the kit interior I installed flat stock both top and bottom.  I also like to remove the section of interior tub above the door pockets, gives the inner door area more depth and is more representative of the 1:1.
