Anybody know the history of the real boat this kit was based off of? I've done several different searches and can find nothing on a real boat just like that one. A searches using the word Westcraft, or West craft. or combinations with each come up with nothing on a real life that matches the AMT kit boat.

West craft was a real 1:1 product of AMT . I suspect the name is based on West Gallogly, the lawyer who started AMT in 1948. He had friends at Ford who supported his business Alumiun Metal Toys.

West Gallogly Jr was the guy behind the Wes Craft boat.  There doesn't seem to be any reference out there on the boat.  I have a copy of the flyer mentioned above, but can't seem to locate it right now.  I think the flyer refers to the boat as a Glass Slipper, but if you Google Glass Slipper you'll see a totally different boat.

According to an ex-AMT staffer, he only recalled seeing a couple of them, one being the prototype.

Thanks for the help guys! I'm trying to collect all of the cool accessory pieces that came with the AMT kits, so far I only have the Go Kart from the '63 Ford truck. This boat is a must have!
