69NovaYenko Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 (edited) I recall a while ago someone saw selling a 1/25 `68 Olds 442 2 door hardtop on one of the on-line auction sites. I do believe Jo-Han kitted them originally. Unfortunately, I just never got around to snagging a couple of them. Does anyone know if they are still available? Edited May 12, 2016 by 69NovaYenko
Mike Chernecki Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Finding an original Johan '68 Olds 442 is nearly impossible. I found one several years ago, only to find a nice original box filled with scrap parts and sprues. Modelhaus has a very nice conversion kit to use with the MPC/AMT '69 Olds 442.

Darn, so sorry to hear your Johan '68 Olds 442 find was a bust.I was hoping to find a hardtop like the Jo-Han annual. But if a rag-top is all that`s available I will look into Modelhaus when they reopen and are back on-line. Thanks big time for the Modelhaus lead. Edited May 12, 2016 by 69NovaYenko
69NovaYenko Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 (edited) By the way, at one time didn't Bandit Resins make a '68 442 post car or was that someone else??? Edited May 12, 2016 by 69NovaYenko
espo Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 By the way, at one time didn't Bandit Resins make a '68 442 post car or was that someone else??? This looks like a nice Resin body, but if you are going for the pillared coupe style you will want to add window moldings. I had looked at this and others that are based on the hardtop body style. Something about them just never looked right and it took me a while to figure out what was wrong. The caster would do a good job adding the pillar but would forget the moldings that went around the windows on a coupe. To my eye it looks almost as if the roof was raised somehow.
W-31 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 David, you're a 100% correct on the moldings, I own 2 real pillared coupes a 1970 and a 1971 and without the moldings the casting does look like it has a raised roof!!
DrKerry Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Bandit I think still has that... It wouldn't take too much to add the framing on the doors and quarter window to make it look right would it??
mikemodeler Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Double check with Kenny at Bandit, didn't see it on his website.
