gotnitro? Posted October 24, 2016 Author Posted October 24, 2016 Thanks! We have a new program launch at work so bench time will slow, but I'll keep plugging away!Hoping to get the boom and mixer assembly mockup this week
Tesla Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 looks like I missed a little glue mess.. time for the lower roller guides ! If I may make a suggestion...what about making the belt from a bicycle tire tube? I've used it for a number of things, and it might give you the look your after. If there's a bike shop in your area, ask them for an old tube, that's what I did.
gotnitro? Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely look at that option! I appreciate everyone's feedbackKeep building ! Jeff
gatorincebu Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Jeff, Real nice subject. Great scratchbuilding skills. Looks good from here ! Be Well Gator
Chariots of Fire Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 That is nice work! I love seeing scratch building coming together. And that's quite a support you have for the end of the boom! Congratulations on the new addition to your family. As the Bible says " train up a child in the way she should go and when she is old she will not depart from it" God bless!
gotnitro? Posted March 1, 2018 Author Posted March 1, 2018 Fixed hosting issue...this stalled project is coming back soon sorry for the long hibernation
gotnitro? Posted April 2, 2020 Author Posted April 2, 2020 It's been several years, but I drug this old dog back to finally finish it. I was never happy with the half round lap welds, so CTM etch weld beads were used..absolutely love them. Its gonna be curbside, so it went right to primer . The cab is Tamiya Mica red , the barrel flag is started too. Painted it gloss white, added school stars, and painted the lower section Mica blue . Later it will receive its red stripes Heres where i stalled .. And a few hours later..
tbill Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Looks awesome! This is going to be quite the looker when done

Gotta thank Tom B for the suggestion to pinstripe the white instead of wider stripes I was having a time laying out evenly . The last puzzle piece was priming the conveyor boom, I originally over built making a 5 minutes job eat up hrs . But it's in color now ready to accept its belt ! next time ya see it, that will be installed!!
gotnitro? Posted April 5, 2020 Author Posted April 5, 2020 Lockdown day...never mind I've lost track ! I swear it feels like reruns of Groundhog day The boom is mounted !!! I wrapped the belt , built in some droop, and locked it down for good ! now it needs sway braces , and a million other small details before being finished...hopefully that's gonna be very soon
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 That looks great! It's going to be a real eye catcher!!
